Not about just this song, but a general statement: Fellow audio engineers, let's start mixing ALL styles of music like COUNTRY music, so that one can understand EACH and EVERY lyric. It's time to stop burying the lead vocals of songs in the instrumental portion of the song. Using a combination of EQ and fader levels we can carve out a "hole" in which the lead vocal of the song will fit and be heard. "What's The Frequency Kenneth" is one of the biggest violators in this regard - it sounds like Michael Stipe is MUMBLING between the guitar riffs!
