Slowly and Faster are antonyms, so it's another nonsensical oxymoron.

This song has always done my head completely in. What are we meant to deduce from a line like this? That he's likening his girlfriend to a wall? That she's his wonderful metaphorical wall against the blues inflicted by life? Or what,exactly? I'll tell you guys,either I'm missing something,or someone was smoking the wrong brand when they wrote this.

I have said several times that when you try to get at the origins of crazy lyrics you're sometimes left even more bereft of a clue as to what they're all about.There are so many explanations which tend to sound even crazier than the lines themselves I've found.Having said that,on a few occasions you hear an excplanation which,even though wierd in itself,has a whiff of the truth about it.Some time ago I wrote about Wonderwall.Like,what's with comparing his girlfriend to a wall?That kind of thing.How about this for an origin.It has it's roots,apparently,in a movie by the same name.This features some dirty old man who has drilled a hole right through the wall to the apartment next door,so he can spy on the chick living there.Thus he has made his Wonderwall.If indeed that is the true origin of the number,then all I can say is what a way to refer to your lover.Like,he's saying I'M the dirty old man and YOU'RE the chick next door-In effect YOU'RE that WONDERWALL experience.This could indeed be the truth behind those fool lyrics.Nothing would surprise me.Just goes to show guys that the only thing that will back up craziness is even more craziness,even if it is the truth.Now I'm effectively left thinking that that ludicrous line After all,you're my Wonderwall,is TWICE as ludicrous.
