Groove Armada's, "At The River"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
If you're fond of sand dunes and salty air
Quaint little villages here and there
Why They're Nonsensical:
That's it. The entire lyric of this sorry excuse for a song. Repeated over and over again. I'm very fond of sand dunes, salty air and quaint little villages, but this song doesn't tell me what on earth to do about it or where this delightful place is. Maybe the title is a clue. River... salty air? No, most rivers are freshwater Are there any estuaries in Ibiza? HOWEVER... I made a discovery. The couplet above was sampled from a REAL song called "Old Cape Cod". Except that Cape Cod is on the sea, not by any river. Mystery solved. Apart from why "At the River" was ever cobbled together in the first place. Now play that trombone...
