Enya's, "Anywhere Is"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
You go there, you're gone forever
I go there, I'll lose my way
If we stay here, we're not together
Anywhere is
I go there, I'll lose my way
If we stay here, we're not together
Anywhere is
Why They're Nonsensical:
The first two lines make some sort of sense, as they're lost in 'the maze of moments' according to the first verse, but why will they not be together if they stay where they are? And what is anywhere? We're never told.

Enya's, "Book of Days"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
No day, no night, no moment
Can hold me back from trying
One flag, one fall, one falter
I'll find my day maybe
Far and Away
Can hold me back from trying
One flag, one fall, one falter
I'll find my day maybe
Far and Away
Why They're Nonsensical:
I like the song, but I've got no idea what it means. What do flags have to do about it, and why will she find her day far and away? Is she trying to run away, or what?

Enya's, "One By One"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
Yet another goodbye ...
She says Adios, says Adios, Goodbye ...
No goodbye ... Don't say Adios, say Adios, Goodbye
She says Adios, says Adios, Goodbye ...
No goodbye ... Don't say Adios, say Adios, Goodbye
Why They're Nonsensical:
Blatant contradiction. Does she say goodbye or not? She says goodbye through the first three verses, and then suddenly she doesn't. Changes the meaning a bit.

Enya's, "Orinoco Flow"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up, adieu.
Ooh. Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up, adieu.
Ooh. Turn it up, turn it up, turn it up, up, adieu.
Aah... ... We can steer, we can near with Rob Dickins at the wheel,
we can sigh, say goodbye Ross and his dependencies
Why They're Nonsensical:
More strange lyrics from Enya... what's all this 'turn it up' on about? The song's about sailing away down the Orinoco, not turning it up. I've no idea who 'Rob Dickins' or 'Ross' are either, or his dependencies, since they're not mentioned anywhere else in the song.

Enya's, "Orinoco Flow"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
from Fiji to Tiree and the Isles of Ebony,
from Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,
from Bali to Cali - far beneath the Coral Sea.
from Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,
from Bali to Cali - far beneath the Coral Sea.
Why They're Nonsensical:
The last passage might be difficult - Cali is inland.
