Why They're funny:
Either the doctor is blind (so how he managed to obtain his profession is beyond comprehension) or he's pretty much inept (so how he managed to obtain his profession is beyond comprehension). And it's not as if the doctor's that much at fault here either. Some people really have no sense of urgency...

Why They're funny:
Smoking a cigarette and standing by the newspaper stand. 'Morning mail' probably sounds funny. I like the funny word 'telephone rings'. The woman picks up the phone and realizing something's scary and she screams in freight.
