The Lyrics

President Obama will announce in Wednesday's State of the Union address (We'll save you the trouble of watching -- its state is "bleak") that he's proposing to save $250 billion by freezing all non-security federal "discretionary" spending for three years.

Senior administration officials acknowledged that "discretionary" spending is only about one-sixth of the entire federal budget, and that much larger savings would come from cutting entitlement programs. (Uh, since when does being born "entitle" you to anything? Try moving to a desert island, and then claim all those things to which you think you're "entitled".)

Wanna bet the special interests and pork-barrel pols find a way to avoid the freezes, *if* they ever happen, which, frankly, we doubt?

Economic decline is frightful
My supporters: growing spiteful
Just where did that stim'lus go? [1]
"Freeze the dough"? Words to blow! Bulls**t, so!

Consumers aren't go-ing shopping
Watch the Wall Street numbers dropping
Morale is at all-time low
"Freeze the dough"? Voters: snow! Taxes grow!

Now America's shifted Right
So I'll state, "We need fiscal reform!"
But if we play upon their plight
Follow, still, Socialist norm

My lies, the folks were buying
Now they're not. It's mystifying!
But I'll hypnotize them with show [2]
"Freeze the Dough"? Quid pro quo: Congress: "Ho"! [3]

[1] Good question. (Other than bonuses for CEOs of money-losing firms, of course.) Unemployment is still high and going higher....

[2] Pssst, Mr. Prez: The hypnosis works better if you don't use a teleprompter while speaking to a sixth-grade class, as you did the other day.

[3] Don't take our word for it. Check out "Parliament of Whores: A Lone Humorist Attempts to Explain the Entire US Government", © 1991 P. J. O'Rourke. A #1 New York Times bestseller, Time Magazine called it "a riotously funny and perceptive indictment of America's political system." The New York Times called it "a funnily savage attack on the political authorities of the United States."
Somehow, the special interests will get their tit-for-tat ("quid pro quo") for their campaign contributions and lobbying....

You beat me to getting a preview of the State Of The Union Address posted. Your speed and quality are amazing. This finally proves the existence of Fiddlegirl...no one person can work this fast and good! ;D

An exit from the unwinnable Mideast quagmires would save trillions, beyond the trillions already poured down those particular ratholes. Is that a Midxed metaphor?

Mark Scotti: And the news will only get worse... thanks for the dough -- we need all we can get!

Old Man Ribber: Actually, the concept, title switch, and *entire first draft* were FGs. (I almost put that in the outro comments, but didn't want to belabor the point. But since you brought it up...) .... But yeah some TTweaks, and, of course, the fooTnoTes -- these two heads really are better than moi's pea-brain. Thanks for v/c!

John Barry: I could not *possibly* agree with you more (trumping many of our previous differences). I seem to remember Candidate O promising that ll the troops would be home from Iraq within, oh, a year or less of his inauguration -- and I missed the part about promising to send troops to Afghanistan. If only we'd quit Midxing in their internal affairs .. thanks for v/c, John.

TJC: You promised not to tell anyone that I sent you that video! .... OH.... you mean, our *songwriting* union .... my bad. ;) Maybe we should run for the White House in 2012... thanks for v/s!

Ever since my best friend was asking me for $800 due to the fact that she's in a jam, I told her that I was into as much trouble as she is, I even told her that my bank account was frozen so she could stop asking me for money. What is really happening is that I'm in debt and I was forced to sell some of my jewelry just to pay the debt. I feel bad for leaving my friend out to dry like that, especially in an emergency. Great job explaining those trying times, especially in an economic point of view! Luckily, you managed to save about $555!

Good OS choice, in the spring the snow will melt but the O will still be here. The 5 key is frozen on my keyboard! 555

Christie Marie M: Well, if you hadn't bought all that jewelry in the first place ... or was it a "gift"? (KIDDING! ;) ;) ;) Always appreciate your votes and comments!

Phil Nelson: It's the interesting on the national debt that's part of the problem -- it's interesting faster than we can pay it.;) Thanks for v/c!

blackjack21: See reply to OMR: OS choice and first draft by FG .... Better get that 5 key unfrozen before ya fill out yer income tax forms, but so long as it's frozen for us.... :-D

Kudos (and 5's) on an apt OS - just delivering another snowjob to Joe Public that we'll all end up shoveling.
