Song Parodies -> "Friday Rules"

Original Song Title:

"Don't Be Cruel"

Original Performer:

Elvis Presley

Parody Song Title:

"Friday Rules"

Parody Written by:

Rex Ungericht

The Lyrics

On Monday I just frown
Tuesday I try to cope
But Wednesday I rebound
And Thursday I'm feelin' hope
Friday rules
It's a weekly jewel

Counting all the days that pass
The weekend is just ahead
Please let it get here fast
My brain's feeling kinda dead
Friday rules
Both at work and school

You know it's the day I love
Friday is the day I'm dreaming of

Monday gotta shove me
To get me on my way
And Tuesday hangs above me
A cloud that does nothin' but rain
Friday rules
Saturday's cool too

So let the good times start
Friday is the day that's off the chart

On Wednesday things get better
The week is halfway through
Thursday I'm on Twitter
Makin' weekend plans with you
Friday rules
Where's my dancing shoes

You know it's the day I love
Friday never gets here soon enough

Friday rules
Tell the week adieu
Friday rules
Think I'll have a brew

And when Monday morning comes
Friday is the day I'm dreaming of

Tell me why I don't like Mondays - I could shoot the whole day down. 555

Not hilarious, but very cute (I also liked the Twitter reference)

Nicely done. Just heard the OS the other day. I love the sound of early Elvis. Only 5 day's before the weekend.

I was going to read this Friday, but oh,well. I don't like Mondays, either. Fridays are the best days of the week. I also like dining at TGI Fridays as well! LOL! I echo Susanna's comment! 555's!

Rex - It's neat that this fell on a Monday holiday. Tomorrow is my Monday. This fell together nicely with the original. The songs "Monday, Monday" and "Just another Manic Monday" come to mind. There are 5 days in the normal work week and I'm giving you a point for each day. I like this one.

I could picture this on Sesame Street or some other children's program.

This reminds me of that song "Friday, I'm In Love" by The Cure (Which I love by the way!) It was an intresting concept but you should have inculded a bit about the resturant TGI Friday's in there.

The more I'm at this job, the more I feel like the singer of this song. Good job on capturing the feeling of utter despair until Friday shows up :)

(Artistry) Good idea, but not enough words to really use that idea to it's full potential, IMO.

Fun little parody Rex, the use of the entire weekend building up to Friday was really neat
