The Lyrics

I've said many times in the past I don't like works about the site or about people on it. This is another in my growing list of exceptions. This is also a thanks for being the best pal I never met.
Writin' on a website just for parodies
Can't be pornographic gotta watch the sleaze
There's someone who can write it and yet not get caught
The king of innuendo name of Johnny D dot
He never seems to miss a trick of the absurd
And he can slip it by you with a subtle word

No no
Ho, layin' low
No no
Word doesn't go
No no
Still doesn't flow
No no
Nothin' to show
Don't know?
Johnny D. would

He wields his mighty keyboard like a Thesaurus
He finds each euphemism without any fuss
Oh, the other writers wish they had his gift for gab
But still they grab their wits and give each song a stab
The censor reads the words and though he starts to squirm
Another wiggles in just like determined sperm

No no
Ho, layin' low
No no
Word doesn't go
No no
Still doesn't flow
No no
Nothin' to show
Can't go
Johnny D. should

His stories cover topics that prove he's well read
There's not too many in-jokes that pass by his head
The ego he deserves he seems to hold in check
Though pictures we have seen of him are sans a neck
Each new work he posts presents a new delight
We say Johnny D's good, all right
Please, don't write one about me right back. You know I hate those ones about people on the site.

A very fitting tribute, Rick.

(sniff) You like me! You really like me!

The above truly-felt and 100% sincere sentiment of good-naturedly-embarrassed gratitude (indeed yes, thank you, Rick!) is a paraphrase of Rick Duncan's own comment.......

"(sniff) You like us! You really like us!"

......on my parody "MAD Mari", which I posted on May 20, 2004 as a tribute to Mari Duncan and Rick Duncan:

P.S..... "sans a neck" ..... ? Heh heh. ;-D

Rick, I really loved to sing the parody along with this song...everything goes so well. 5's

Good tribute to Johnny. Sometimes I wish I had his vast command of ...well...just about everything.

Especially in those play pictures where you have on the tight collars. Plus I was stuck for a rhyme.

Oh please don't stop, Dee! In fact, I think Chucky should make posting a paean to my parody prowess (and to my gloriously self-effacing egolessness and humility of which I am so proud) a prerequisite for sharing the site with me, me, ME, WONDERFUL MEEEEEE! ;-D

Rick D - A Well-Deserved Tribute to our esteemed "JD", not only a Prolific author, a Well-Read Scholar, a Computer-Geek Par-Extroadinairre, a Thesaurean Master, an Approachable Colleague who gives of his time and enthusiam to us all, but also just a Darned Nice Guy who brightens up the entire site with his presence. I'm sure I left some good stuff out but you probably get the idea. OH, Yeah, and another "amiright" loon who was born in Connecticut in the 1950's...Hey, any more out there? I'm curious. Wasn't going to start reading and commenting today, got stuff I have to do, but I saw this in the entries and had to stop in and pay my respects...
