This song according to VH1 says 1989, Wikipedia say a single was released in 1985 and 1990--and it charted on Billboard in 1990 and 1991, so I just put 80s because it was released either at the end of the 80s or early 1990. I'm at badave.com.

Brilliant idea for this song. I've always loved this song so I'm glad you did it, although you had to for the Weird Al project, I'm glad it was done either way, This was a crazy epic song just about ice cream, which reminds me of that other "crazy" epic song of yours about potato chips.
Loved it very much...but TOS is from the 90s not the 80s (however it does contain a notable sample from an 80s' song). Still, the content is excellent, and I award you with a 555
As stated in the intro, I have found evidence both ways--1989 is the quoted year of released by VH1 and 1985 is mentioned in Wikipedia, but then contradicted directly under that. . .
Dave, you should have written "stomach's" instead of "stomachs" in stanza 22 of verse 5. Despite that, you get 5s.
I scream, you scream, we all scream 3 ice cream cones with 5 scoops in each of them! I'm in the mood for some ice cream myself! I happen to be an ice cream addict myself. My fave is Baskin Robbins, Friendly's and Dairy Queen.

There's a few different versions of this song - which one is this to? I'd check YouTube, but, once again (like always it seems) it's loading insanely slow (which is one reason I said it sucked earlier - a free site is useless if it takes FOREVER to load a video, even with a 15Mb conection). I liked this, particularly "Hand it to me, and my stomach can hide it". lol.

This was excellent in capturing the "flavor" of the OS; many good references - from different name nrands to Mexican for fried ice cream. Great job.
