Parody Song Title:

"Crazy Knights"

Parody Written by:

Phil Alexander

The Lyrics

A kind of tribute to Monty Python and the Holy Grail
People try to hide our grail away
We're on a quest to find it anyway
We reach a castle, you'll tell by the stench
All of the people inside, they are French
Hearing demands for a rockery
These are the knights, the knights who say "Ni"

Chorus:
These are crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knights
These are crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knights

Sometimes peasants can make you so depressed
Talk to them, they tell you they're oppressed
There's this black knight, we cut of his hands
His arms and his legs so he can't stand
He comes back to fight again and again,
"I'll bite your ankles" is what he is sayin'

He's a crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knight
He's a crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knight
These are crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knights
These are crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knights

And they try to tell us that we're mad and we're wrong
But that's alright, we've got our armour on
This is our grail, this is our test, this is our trial, our hunt and our quest

We are crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knights
We are crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knights

These are crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy knights
Repeat to fade

Phil: Glad to see youīre back, making comments etc. Itīs almost scary how close we came to do the same song(s). When I wrote that remark about maybe going with a Monthy Python-esk view on chivalry, this was one of the songs I had in mind! As for the one I went with (2.000 Man), I started sketching it as "Donīt you know itīs the Holy Grail, Man!" before my muse intervened and whispered "Leonardo" in my ear. :-)

I was worried I'd gone for the slightly too obvious one - but as soon as I realized it was a Kiss song, I knew it was going to have to be a Crazy Nights/Crusader parody and my thinking got a bit blinkered.

Very good parody. Thanks for commenting on my parodies, by the way. "Even those who make parodies are under considerable economic stress at this point in history"

Thank you, Jade - keep it up, and by the time you're my age, you'll have been writing parodies for more than a quarter of a century. What a scary thought...
