The Lyrics

Sung by an old man to some little prat. Part of Ages in AmIRight.
Listen man, never try
Extreme skating
With no person
To supervise

All that you will achieve
Is six scratches
And eye patches
having black and blue eyes

But if you
Just wear a helmet
Then you won't get hurt so bad
Won't spend hours, in the ER
Resetting bone-snaps
It drives you mad

You've got black and blue eyes?
That isn't so bad
More than two?
What's wrong with you?

No one I've ever known
Has been so dumb
To get both eyes punched
Then came you

But then they
Once they're eyes had healed
Didn't get their eyes re-hurt
What I mean is, they eyes had only
Been blue and blackened
But only once

When you land wrong your head cracks open
Before long you're in a body bag
Be careful, and don't try too hard
To beat the record for hardest stack

And if you leave the hospital ever
Please stay out more than a week
And if you stay out, I'll give you a choccy
Please keep safe, just watch where you leap

Hopefully, little tike
You'll be a good man
And not get more than
Seven black eyes
Written under stress of someone-else-in-the-room-watching-TV.

(Agrimorfee) Slow down, Conqueror! The 6th stanza was incomprehensible! Pacing was difficult to follow in places.

(Ages) Hey Agimorfee, there is a contest named after you (Agimorefee)? Heehee. . .anyhow, Conqueror, this one isn't bad, but Agi is right on the pacing, and your past few rounds were superiorly stronger than this one. . .but like I said, it's not bad, just not your best.

love the original song, not to sure about accepting choccy from an old man though! still not bad.

(Ages) Agreed that the pacing was kind of iffy in places, but I thought this was amusing. Had a bit of a Monty Python-ish feel in places.

Well, at least you weren't doing it in Central Park where you could also get colored eyes from the muggers!

(Ages) Between skating and getting punched, I think a new hobby needs to be found. Maybe climbing trees or carpentry. :-)

(SOTM) I'm not sure why you entered this in SOTM, even with the advice of others in the message board. My previous comments stand.

(SOTM) You kind of beat the joke into the ground by the end of the song, so some humor was lost.

SOTM - Beat it

(SOTM) nice explanatory rider at the end, almost suggesting that you're apologising for this not being one of your best, bobpie - still a nice read and deserves a 555

SOTM - Made me think of a video by the band Pain. :-)

(SOTM) Sometimes we're the ones who beat ourselves up the most -- not always a bad thing, but it's always wise to ask "Why?".

SOTM- The pacing was a little off here and there, but don't beat yourself up over it. Good work, Conqueror.

(SOTM) I'm a sucker for injury-related parodies, and this was a cool addition to the genre. Keep up the good work, bobpie. 555

(SOTM) First of all, thank you for using The Who's excellent original version rather than Limp Bizkit's half-assed cover. As has been mentioned before, the pacing is bruised in a few places. Good work and message here, pieman: skaters own themselves in nasty ways everyday - check out some video clip sites to see what I mean. 455

(SOTM) Ouch...better written under the stress of external noise than based on personal experience in this case.
