The Lyrics

(instrumental opening)

When you're weary
lead is small
when tears are in
your eyes
make call to the pen.
He's on your side.
Oh, when games get rough
send Brad out to the mound!
He's your Lidge over troubled water.
He will set them down.
He's your Lidge over troubled water.
He will set them down.

He will strike them out.
He will bring the heat.
His fastball drops so hard.
This will comfort you.
He'll save your start.
But Pujols comes
and takes him out of town!
He's Brad Lidge, but he's in hot water.
Will this get him down?
He's Brad Lidge, but he's in hot water.
Will this get him down?

(instrumental break)

Sail on, Sox of White.
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
Hanging curve is on the way.
You'll win this time.
Oh, Astros need a friend
but knocked on his behind!
He's Brad Lidge, he's in troubled water!
He will blow your mind!
He's Brad Lidge, he's in troubled water!
He will blow your mind!

(instrumental close)

This guy has had 2 phenomenal regular seasons, and he gives up a couple of home runs in the post season, and he gets parodied like this? That's life in the big leagues. Well done, MP.

Well, John, it's not like he's Armando Benitez, for (or rather, at) whom I've done two.
