Song Parodies -> Baritone
| Original Song Title: | "Kodachrome" |
| Original Performer: | Paul Simon |
| Parody Song Title: | "Baritone" |
| Parody Written by: | Tim Mayfield |
This is for all the neighbors of parents who tell their kids, 'don't play that thing in the house'
When I hear that
Annoying crap I grab a baseball
When he plays it
I can't think at all
And though my aim is quite pathetic
I take my best shot
Cause it's the thought that counts after all
Baritone
It gives me the thought of killing
It makes me a raging neighbor
Makes me want to wrap it around his face, oh yeah
I got a major headache
I'd love to swing my baseball bat
Oh mama please take his baritone away
If I closed all my windows up
And played my records
And set the volume all the way to high
It still could not compete
With all that noise pollution
And every time he plays you'll hear me cry
Baritone
It gives me the thought of killing
It makes me a raging neighbor
Makes me want to wrap it around his face, oh yeah
I got a major headache
I'd love to swing my baseball bat
Oh mama please take his baritone away
Annoying crap I grab a baseball
When he plays it
I can't think at all
And though my aim is quite pathetic
I take my best shot

Oh mama please take his baritone away

VRTOS (Vaguely Remember The Original Song) but this theme was the inspiration I needed to tip another parody I'm working on in a (hopefully) better working direction. Thanx Tim, If I manage to finish it I'll give you some sort of credit and a good enough reason to link back to this one in the comments field. :-)
clever concept...5s
Clever parody premise, Tim...well done - 5's ~ ~ ~
This parody's a hoot!
Good one! 5's
I'm a little confused. The parody is good, for the most part, but it seems as if the author thinks a "baritone" is a musical instrument, when, in fact, it is a type of "voice" used in singing.
Thanks Know1, Alvin, Paul, Johnny, Adagio, Norman.
Norman, if you want to do a search on the internet, just type in the word baritone and you will see it is another name for a euphonium. It is also used as a denoter for a sound range, such as a baritone saxophone, baritone voice, etc. When used as a single name 'baritone' is used synonomously with euphonium, it's like a little tuba.

Thanks, Tim. Didn't know that!
