Original Song Title:

"Midnight At the Oasis"

Original Performer:

Maria Muldaur

Parody Song Title:

"Gun Fight With The Two Aces"

Parody Written by:

Guy DiRito

Gun fight with the two aces,
Smoked your camel, your dead.
Bullets riddled your faces,
Tracers dancing about your heads.

You guys run around half-tuned,
Whinin' most at us.
We'll ship off all your clan goons, real soon,
Since now that you bit the dust.

C'mon, attract us to your friends,
Go point out the way.
Run on, 'til the roundup ends,
'til the roundup ends.

You guys are like cancer,
worse than some speed freak.
You smelly necromancer, trancer,
We'll blast you to next week.

guitar solo

We know your daddy's a faultin',
He's Saddam soon to fall.
With fifty lifts to attend you, as they mend you,
You guys don't look bad at all.

But you no longer scare 'em sonny,
There's two less on your side.
So then you took that gamble, yo yo,
Then we smoked your dirty hide.

C'mon, attract us to your friends,
Go point out the way.
Run on, 'til the roundup ends,
'til the roundup ends.

Gun fight with the two aces,
Smoked your camel, your dead.
Bullets riddled your faces,
Tracers dancing about your heads.

Gun fight with the two aces (Fade)

Guy, thanks for doing a parody to this song--now it's you and me instead of just me-mine is about a night at the race track. I think Midnight at the Oasis is a very fun song, and I wish there were more like it these days.

I did see your song that was written before I came onboard just before I wrote this and I thought it was well done. I voted on it even though it is way back with the oldies. I was a bit surprised that someone else did this one, it is such a forgotten old song. I looked at this song about two weeks ago and could not get a theme going with it. Then there were two aces and presto, just like that.

Three fives beats a pair of aces.....and in this case that's a GOOD thing! Well done.
