"Hope My Turns Can All Be Rights"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Hit the railing with my car
Knocked it loose and hit the wall
Then my car began to skid
That's 'bout all I can recall

Mangled both doors on my side
Popped out both of my headlights
Car hates turning to the left
Hope my turns can all be rights

I know turning left is wrong
With the way my fender's bent
I can still drive to my doctor
Just can't turn down a dead-end

My insurance said they'll pay
Deductible's way too high
Don't know when I'll have the cash
Hope my turns can all be rights

Saving money takes too long
What comes in I've got to spend
I'll just have to leave my car broke
Just don't turn down those dead-ends

Spend my nights now staying home
Can only drive in broad daylight
Bank keeps turning down my loan
Hope my turns can all be rights

I know Kristoffersen wrote this song, but wasn't Sammi Smith the first to have a hit with it?

song cop, yes, Sammi Smith and O.C. Smith had hits with it before Kris Kristofferson recorded it. All three recordings were in the 70's. Also, no previous parodies of this song on Amiright used Sammi or O.C. in the "based on the performance of" field. Plus, I don't have a copy of Sammi Smith's recording.
