Song Parodies -> How Much Of Dolly Is Real?
| Original Song Title: | "Lucille" |
| Original Performer: | Kenny Rogers |
| Parody Song Title: | "How Much Of Dolly Is Real?" |
| Parody Written by: | Steve Kalafut |
About both the famously-endowed singer, and the famously-cloned sheep. "Roslin" is the Roslin Institute, near Edinburgh, where the cloning was carried out. The quote in the second verse is based on something Dolly (the person) once said about herself.
She's a blonde country singer, guitar in her fingers
But she's still known for two other things
Could not help but notice her amply-filled bodice
All eyes are on her when she sings
Now her assets amazing could keep me a-gazing
But there's more to that woman, my friend
When you get down to it, she can make some music
If you can get yourself past her big front end
On the TV, I saw her, I closely watched her
I thought she looked good for her age
Have surgeons with cutting and nipping and tucking
Done kept her in shape for the stage?
Impressive proportions, or was it distortion?
'Cause a figure like that's hard to keep
I thought she said, "Honey, it takes lots of money
To keep this gal looking so cheap"
I wonder how much of Dolly is real
How much from nature, will she even reveal?
Did she go under the knife for those wonders?
And with time her surgeries heal
I wonder how much of Dolly is real
[key change]
Up there in Scotland, were two men at Roslin
Of biotechnology fame
A cell from an udder, instead of a mother
Is why they gave Dolly her name
She was a beauty, four-legged and woolly
A clone of another, that's true
Their operation caused quite a sensation
They made an embraceable ewe
I wonder how much of Dolly is real
Looks just like ovines that you see in the field
It's just amazing she won't be grazing
'Cause this lamb is not for your meal
I wonder how much of Dolly is real
I wonder how much of Dolly is real
How much from nature, will she even reveal?
Did she go under the knife for those wonders?
And with time her surgeries heal
I wonder how much of Dolly is real
But she's still known for two other things
