The Lyrics

Retelling the plot of a film in the space of such a short song is really tricky and usually results in confusing nonsense. Although the parts of the film I've left out are actually the oddest parts, and that's not even getting into the sordid history of the film...anyway, enjoy!
There's a film called The Thief and the Cobbler
I can't think of a film that is odder
There's prob'ly a few, there's none that I've seen, dude
Not that I've seen all of the films out there

There's this cobbler quite poor, his name was Tack
And a thief who tried to rob him
Tack tried to fight back, but ran into Zigzag
The Grand Vizier, who arrested him

Didn't count on Princess Yum-Yum
Being in need of a Cobbler
And so King Nod, let poor Tack off
Zigzag he wasn't pleased, no sir

The thief, the green-shaded trooper
Stole the balls so golden
But Zigzag had plans with the One-Eyed Clan
So he nicked them back soon after

But the princess knew that she had to act
To protect her kingdom
She asked her Dad, she brought along Tack
Left to seek out the Witch for her wisdom

They accounted a huge tribe of Briggans
Who joined them in their quest, that part's simple
But the old witch wasn't quite sane, instead
She just blew herself up, left a riddle

How it all ends is quite bonkers, my friends
The One-Eyes have a giant machine thing
And so Tack destroys it with a tack, of course
And the thief saves the balls while it crashes

I request that you watch, this film, it rocks
Please watch The Thief and the Cobbler
There's three versions, though the best one
Is on the net, it's Recobbled

And so I've told you the tale, the abridged tale
Tale of The Thief and the Cobbler
Although it's just some, I left out the weird chunks
And what's left is a spoilery trailer
Yeah, there's three cuts of this movie. There's The Princess and the Cobbler, which cuts out some scenes, has some rushed animation and adds song numbers to Disney up the film. There's Arabian Knight, which cuts more scenes and adds constant internal monologues for the thief and Tack. The Recobbled Cut was compiled by hardcore fans to try and restore the film to what the creator, Richard Williams, intended - a mostly silent film with fantastic animation. I'll admit I've only seen the Princess one, but I highly recommend the Recobbled cut anyway.

Never heard of this movie. Never ever ever ever ever. That being said this was an interesting synopsis but I couldn't really comment on anything else about it. It's kind of like me doing a parody about "Nude For Satan" which an extremely obscure Italian horror movie that nobody knows but is actually pretty entertaining.

Matthias above echoes my sentiments exactly. This read like an imdb.com review, not to say it was a bad thing. I like the rhymes/near-rhymes you took with this. Is this thing on Netflix, by chance (and would it be good for a 5 year old to watch)?

(Artistry) I actually have seen the film so this had a somewhat nostalgic effect on me. My favorite part of the movie is all the theif's failed attempts to get the golden balls. Ha! He was ridiculous! Not exactly your funniest parody , but informative and interesting.

Matty caught my sentiments to a T. . .Matty, now I want to see that. . .but somehow I think it will be like the USS Manhandler part of South Park's Bigger Longer Uncut movie, which would be very . . . unique, Eeeh Satan
