The Lyrics

I've done a parody about Batman's rogues gallery and another about the first (of many) Robins, but not one about the Goddamn Batman himself. Clearly this is a grievous error on my part and needs to be remedied immediately, to use fancy words. Enjoy!
In Gotham City, there's a great deal of crime
I'm gonna stomp it out, one crook at a time
I'm on the prowl, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoa-oah
Ooh-woo-hoo
Crooks break in a store, I'll smash their head through the floor
I'm on the prowl

I'm not a cop, though I may talk to Jim
What kinda cop would dare to break a limb
When on the prowl? Whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoa-oah
Ooh-woo-hoo
Show them what I've got, suspicious, cowardly lot
Wearin' my cowl

Bringin' crooks do-own, true
Wearin' my co-o-owl, true
Can't bring me do-own, douche
I'm Batman, po-o-o-o-o-ow

I'm not some random vigilante schmoe
I have a reason why each night I go
Out on the prowl, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoa-oah
Ooh-woo-hoo
My parents got mowed down when I was eight years old
They got shot down

Since then I dedicated my whole life
To make sure no-one else goes through that strife
And so you now know, know, know, know, kno-ow
Ooh-woo-hoo
It's tragic, for sure, and it's why guns I abhor
Bring my fist down

Behind the co-owl, Bruce
Wayne around to-o-own, true
Known as a clo-own, true
I'm Batman no-o-o-o-o-ow

The av'rage Gotham dude knows me as a twat
Runnin' Wayne Enterprises in between shags
Only two now know, know, know, know, know, know, know, know, know
Ooh-woo-hoo
The truth behind me, my butler Alfred and thee
Behind my cowl

I know your backstory is similar, say
How'd you like to join me punchin' crooks today?
Don your own cowl, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoah, whoa-oah
Ooh-woo-hoo
Dick Grayson no more, you'll now be Robin, my ward
Go on the prowl, prowl, prowl, prowl, prowl, prowl

Those tiny green shorts, that as your costume, you're sure?
Whatevs, let's prowl

As I was writing the second verse, I got to thinkin' "Who the hell is Batman talking to?" I immediately thought of Batman explaining his past to Grayson to help convince him to become Robin, which required me to remove a lot of "you"'s from the first verse. Batman's a dick at times, but he's not the kinda dude to threaten a teenager with the head-through-the-floor treatment. Well, Allstar Batman might, but that guy's nuttier than something that has lots of nuts in it.

Missed this first time around, which is a shame 'cause it's excellent. And the "Bruce" bit fits perfectly :-D

(Artistry) hehe, when I was a kid, I did think they were saying "Bbbrruce", not "pppllease". Big time poetic license to rhyme "shags" with "twat" (honestly?), but all around clever and funny.

I'm not big into superheroes, but I know enough about Batman to pick up everything in this spoof. I really like the perspective of him talking to Robin, and there were a lot of nice lines in here as well. Great work as always!

(Artistry) I really liked this TCOP! I thought the tone of the OS really helped flesh out a very eccentric style of Batman. Having him talking to Grayson was a stroke of genius! It really pulled the whole thing together for me as a narrative type deal. You also taught me a new word> I had no idea what a "cowl" was until today. So thank you! Great work!
