| Original Song Title: | "Smoke on the Water" |
| Original Performer: | Deep Purple |
| Parody Song Title: | "Smoke and Low Water" |
| Parody Written by: | John A. Barry |
Where did all the green lawns go?
The lakes have receding shorelines.
We've set records; got long to go
In season of fire time.
Crack! Zap! Bit bolts. Another
Dry lightning strike's coming down
With the effect of a flare gun--
One more forest turns brown.
Smoke and low water. . .
Fires' flames leap high.
They've burned down another house--
It's just ashes on the ground
Dunk buckets in water. . .running out
Threatened is Big Sur town.
When will it be over?
Will the firefighters win the race?
But big dimes are running out,
'cause a huge deficit's in place.
Smoke and low water. . .
Fires' flames leap high.
The end of the Ventana hotel?
It's now hot and of guests bare.
These days it's only fire trucks can take a ride
Down Route 1. . .can't go there.
There's a red sky--looks like the sun bled
Firefighters get no rest.
And the reservoir levels have dipped. . .
There goes another forest
Smoke and low water. . .
Fires' flames leap high.
The lakes have receding shorelines.
We've set records; got long to go
In season of fire time.
Crack! Zap! Bit bolts. Another
Dry lightning strike's coming down
With the effect of a flare gun--
One more forest turns brown.
Smoke and low water. . .
Fires' flames leap high.
They've burned down another house--
It's just ashes on the ground
Dunk buckets in water. . .running out
Threatened is Big Sur town.
When will it be over?
Will the firefighters win the race?
But big dimes are running out,
'cause a huge deficit's in place.
Smoke and low water. . .
Fires' flames leap high.
The end of the Ventana hotel?
It's now hot and of guests bare.
These days it's only fire trucks can take a ride
Down Route 1. . .can't go there.

And the reservoir levels have dipped. . .
There goes another forest
Smoke and low water. . .
Fires' flames leap high.

as ominous and threatening as the OS
Had a bit of trouble with some of the pacing, but the rest was just great (balls of fire).
