Original Song Title:

"You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Bachman-Turner Overdrive

Parody Song Title:

"You Can't Be Boba Fett"

Parody Written by:

Arwen

The Lyrics

I love being his woman
I'd like to stay that way
He said, "I've got thoughts comin' to me"
And I said, "Okay let's play"
He said that "Movie love is good lovin'
And we ain't done Star Wars yet"
Hmmm...so, so I looked into his big brown eyes

And said:

"You can't be Boba Fett
B-B-B-Baby, you just can't be Boba Fett
That's something that you're gonna have to forget
M-Maybe Vader, but you can't be Boba Fett"

Said, "Obi-Wan is better"
I'd get with him for sure
But not that bounty hunter
For 'the mood' he's a cure"
He said that "Even clones need good love
And you haven't tried it yet"
Hmmm...but still I looked into his big brown eyes

And said:

"You can't be Boba Fett
I'll be Leia, but you can't be Boba Fett
That's something that you're gonna have to forget
How 'bout Lando? No, you can't be Boba Fett"

Though our love is good love
Oh, his wish he could not get
No, his wish he could not get
Hmmm...'cause yeah, I looked into his big brown eyes

And said:

"You can't be Boba Fett
I would pay ya, so you won't be Boba Fett
That's a dream that you're gonna have to forget
Even Jar-Jar, but you can't be Boba Fett"

Well, I was JUST listening to this OS last night - trying to find a way to finish a parody I started with it many moons ago...had too many components to my story to fit within the song length...boo-hoo...but I don't know squat about "Star Wars"...hmmm...actually I DO know a small amount of squat about it...but I never watched any of it...so I just know a few names and somewhat of an overview...honest... never cared one way of the other - A good read, though...OH...I guess since the pace is good and the read is good...nah...I'd have to know who "Boba Fett" was to get it...so I can't really vote here...so much vacillating...you'd think "World Peace" was hanging in the balance, waiting for my vote...
Jeff Reuben - June 22, 2005 - Report this comment
Even Jar Jar. Ugh. I imagine if you go with the Leia costume from Return Of The Jedi, you can have any Star Wars character you like =)
Adam Eccleshall - June 22, 2005 - Report this comment
Ah well... guess I'll have to stick with being Jango Fett then ;-)

Excellent song :-D

Alex...thanks a ton...=)

Jeff...hee! Don't be silly...I LOVE yours. I almost didn't submit this last night...couldn't decide if I was "done" or if I could make it better...but it was apparently meant to be...=)

Kristof...hehehe...nice. Thank you!

Phil...I don't know what else I've even submitted this month...you just might be right...=) And LOL, you naughty boy!

Leo...shhh...if you can keep a secret, I haven't seen any of the new ones...eeek. But I totally loved 4, 5, & 6 when I was a kid...=) Thanks...

alvin...thank you very much, sir!

Rick...you're welcome...=) My pleasure, really...

Paul...thanks for reading, even with your limited SW knowledge...=) Jeff (again)...heh. Of course I could...=) Just as even Boba might get lucky if he chose to wear your magenta unitard...

Adam...hehe...nice. At least then I'd have the original instead of some lame clone knock off...; ) Thanks!
Ashkicksass - June 22, 2005 - Report this comment
I haven't seen any of the movies either, but I gave you 5's anyway because I damn well felt like it. Oh, and also because your pacing was spot on, and I know if I knew who Boba Fett was that this would be friggin hilarious.

Awesome. One of the best Star Wars parodies ever.
Stuart McArthur - June 22, 2005 - Report this comment
Im assuming Bobba Fett is a Star Wars character, which makes this idea (and parody) hilarious, Arwen - and how many umpteen millions of gals have gotten to be Princess Leia I wonder, for both participants' sakes - 555

Ashkicker...I appreciate, as always, your support in spite of not knowing what the hell I'm talking about...=) You can rest assured that I will always have your back in my deepest moments of confusion...thanks!

Patrick...well thank you! I don't know if that's true...I honestly haven't read many...but there are loads of talented parodists who are way nerdier...I mean, more into Star Wars...than I am...; ) (the me calling anyone nerdy thing can't fly, considering my own LoTR obsession...hehehe) Thanks!

Stuart...nice assumption...=) Thanks a bunch!

I'm more of a LOTR guy myself. (check out 'My Precious' if you get a chance). Your idea and the title really killed me. I always liked this OS and your pacing was a real delight. I might have to step back, you're right, there are probably 100's if not 1000's of Star Wars songs out there. But I'll still give you top 5 of any that I have read. (LandSpeeder was another good one this week)

Even JAR-JAR? Darth Vader's a much better fit anyway, he has all the good quotes: "Yes, play with my light-saber", "Who's your father?" Top quality, Arwen. Sorry 'bout being late.
Arwen - June 24, 2005 - Report this comment
2nz, Darling...of course you're right...I'd totally take Vader over the lot of them...=) Not only do you make some good points...but he's also just got "the voice." Nice. I'm a big voice person. It matters.

And no apologies needed for being late...the anticipation only makes your comments more appreciated...=) Thanks...

Michael Pacholek - June 27, 2005 - Report this comment
I never understood the appeal of Boba Fett. But I understand the appeal of this parody. I think the problem with a woman wanting Boba Fett (and now Darth Vader as well) is that we've now seen them as little boys. Which is why I've never drooled over Alyssa Milano. Funny, I never had that problem with Drew Barrymore once she grew up, but then, I always thought that if I made a move on Alyssa, Tony Danza would beat me up. Patrick: I have to admit, my distaste for Tolkein aside, "My Precious" kind of grew on me. Or is that creeped up on me?
Steven Cavanagh - June 27, 2005 - Report this comment
What?? NOBODY has mentioned the word "Fettish" yet?? What has become of this place in my absence?
Great one, Arwen.
Arwen - June 28, 2005 - Report this comment
Michael...although I watched the shows endlessly as I child, I honestly never knew who Boba Fett was until I was in college. I'm sure that as a kid, I just thought of him as the bad guy who got eaten by the ground monster thing...hehehe. Anyway, for once, it seems, I agree with you...no appeal. They should've looked into casting Mr. Diesel as Jango...I might be singing a different tune... =) Thanks!

Steven...I guess it took you to bring it up, sir. Nobody else was brave enough...=) Thanks!

[SOTM] Afraid all I can remember of TOS is the chorus, but this is imaginative, funny and original... and that's just from reading it!

[SOTM] Obi-Wan? ("who's your grandaddy?") Very, very funny stuff.

(SOTM) Already commented, but this is still brilliant Arwen.
Charlie Decker - July 09, 2005 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Very funny, Arwen!
Peter Andersson - July 10, 2005 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I guess you could have repeated the chorus a little more at the end, but I also guess you got in the mood and wanted to get into that gold bikini as quickly as possible. (Any pictures BTW?).

Michael Pacholek: I think that the appeal of Boba Fett is/was partially that unlike charachters with facial bumps via rubber masks and the like, anyone heading for a SF Convention could hammer up his own Bobba Fett Helmet in the Garage, and also take if off and just carry it under the arm since noone after eppy 4-6 still knew what he'd look like. Though, that's just my guessing.
Tim Mayfield - July 13, 2005 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Love the idea behind this parody. The Jar-Jar line cracked me up. I had to read it through a second time to fully appreciate the brilliance displayed herein. For some reason I imagine apples carved with Boba's image floating in a tub of water would be FABulous at Halloween - "Bobbing for Boba", then you can say Boba's all wet, too. Join the dark 5's.

Fun facts: (1) Boba Fett's first appearance was in the horrible 1978 TV "Star Wars Holiday Special." (2) It was actually me in a costume. (3) Clearly, Arwen won't let me wear it anymore. (4) Since she won't entertain my fantasies, I'm relegated to dressing up the neighbors' dogs like Ewoks. Frisky little buggers.

(5) I love love love this. Especially the last line. Movie love is good love, indeed. (And Stevenagh: "Fettish" - heh heh.)

DAKâ€"well, I’m glad that my words alone could evoke such adjectives…imagine how much you’d love it if you really knew the OS…; ) Thanks!

Leoâ€"hehehe…thanks!

Red Antâ€"and I’m still quite appreciative, Red Ant…thanks!

Charlieâ€"thanks a ton, Charlie!

K1â€"oh how well you know me…the desire to jump into a gold bikini is one of the only things in life that would keep me from repeating a chorus at the end of my parodies…; )

Timâ€"Thanks a ton…I’ll come to the Halloween party if you throw it…but, while I can anticipate the disappointment from the crowd already, I’m not bobbing for anything…

Mikeâ€"pretty much a moral victory, then…at least making you smile…=) Thanks!

Dr. Bobâ€"you’re right…it’s very cute. And if you DON’T think of this song when you finally watch the movies…even if it’s years from now, when I’m the furthest thing from your mind…I’m totally going to throw a fit…; )

Deeâ€"that minority seems to be bigger than I would’ve thought…go figure. Thanks for assuming I rock based on my past successes, though…I promise to always do the same for you…=)

Jeffâ€"I know you have. I know. And when writing this, I did think…”well if nobody else does, I know that Jeff will at least dig it…” Thanks a ton, buddy! I gained pleasure from your comment…hehehe.

Stuartâ€"the first step to learning more about Mr. Fett will be learning to spell his name correctly…; ) Thanks for your kind words, in spite of your lack of subject matter knowledge…

Rick Câ€"thanks…glad I could improve it somewhat in your mind…=)

Spaffâ€"those ARE some fun facts…but I refuse to believe that was you in that costume. That Boba had a WAY saggier ass than you have. And keep the dogs away from me, you sick bastard.

Thanks thanks thanks for #5, though…=)

Johnnyâ€"I looked…thanks!

Luke...but honestly, you get extra credit for expressing your dismay with the word "drat," so it all evens out, my friend. Thanks!

Jeff...honestly, it does seem like something you'd say/think of...I'm a little bit ashamed of you. But, if you remember, the tension was high when this first posted, as we'd submitted our dueling Star Wars parodies to go head to head that day...I supposed, under that kind of strain, anyone could understandably slip up...even you...=)

Cat...your confusion is my confusion, sister...I KNOW that I'm fabulous. It's a mystery. When I think about it long enough, I am left with the conclusion that it's either because the mean boys won't vote for me because I'm a girl...or...because Claude has been stealing points from me because he secretly hates me...because I'm a girl. It CERTAINLY has nothing to do with the fact that the guys who all defeat me every month are more talented than I am. Bastards.

(Oh, and you don't have to tell me to look at Kristof now...I' ve been looking at him since he got here...; )...)

8. Mission accomplished. Staying power...it's all I've ever dreamed of. Well, staying power AND a quick(ish) fling with Mr. Vin Diesel...but now that you've got the Jabba suit, that dream might change. Thanks.
