- guitar intro -
Belly dancing wiggler always seems to hover
With my scarves I am starting to sway
I said "You ain't seen nothin'
My muscles I have toughened
What you see you will be a-changin' your raise".
She wanted me to heed her, so that I'd plead her
To the nines say I was all dressed
Rings I was wearin'
Wearin' toe bells by the dozen
Used to play 'em all like this, like this!
[riff]
Hips are swingin' and some men start to drool
And for dressing I've got a flair
Singing', hey jiggle, jiggle bellybutton in the middle
There's a jewel in the navel right there
I do a real mean dance, it's a belly dance
Bells on my hips I can really play
Now two of them are dueling
And they knew what they were doing
He was dragged into the fray
And I told him to
Dance this way, dance and sway
Dance this way, dance and sway
Dance this way, dance and sway
Dance this way, dance and sway
Ah, we live out our bliss - like this!
- guitar-
New dance lady with a sassy kind of chassis
With her great timing slid up to me
And with glee and grace it was a great shocker
She swept him up with her big kerchief, see
I'm a belly dance cruiser
I dance nothing real shady
I just roll my stomach and twist
'Tis no kind of labor
When my muscles I do savor
And so I stir them just a little, like this!
Hips are swingin' and some men start to drool
And for dressing I've got a flair
Singing', hey jiggle, jiggle bellybutton in the middle
There's a jewel in the navel right there
I do a real mean dance, it's a belly dance

Woo-hoo! Get DOWN, Pat!! 5's
Ok (getting down from table). Thanks, Johnny!
And if the sample isn´t enough... just look at the Google Ads... :-)
Hehe...yea...almost afraid to click on them. Thanks K1.
Funny, Adagio...although I thought I'd stressed the dangers of clumsy girls like you and me dancing in public! ; ) 5s!
Funny...I'm not clumsy when I'm dancing. Otherwise I could send dishes flying off the table, people getting my elbow in their eye, and finally a broken leg myself. So, thank goodness for dancing! And thank you, Arwen.
Well...I'm not MORE clumsy while dancing...but there isn't anything that I do that I haven't fallen while I do it. Walking/running/talkingonthephone/working/gettingoutofthecar/dancing...etc...=)
Brilliant, bloody brilliant! 5's.
Just so it's not like Elaine on that old Seinfeld episode! Good Work, Adagio, 5s!
Great job, adagio. 5-4-5.
Thanks EmiLoca, Rod and Serafina!
Tough song to parody...good job!
Excellent, altho' I was getting a bit confused as to which genders were doing what! ;-D
belly laughs...5s
Thanks Meriadoc, jeff, alvin.
Genders, Mer? There's just the female me. Have you ever seen some belly dances where they drag a guy onto the floor to dance with them for a minute? I described that in a couple of lines. The other belly dancer was a woman too.
alvine...lolol

alvine...lolol
I mean 'alvin', not 'alvine'...sorry.
Alright Pat... you're gettin' jiggly with it, now!!! :) Great job.
Heh...thnx, Melhi!
Well done, Adagio. I liked "sassy kind of chassis."
Funky kind of dancer. Bravissimo Adagio.
Thanks JJ and 2nz
I gotta agree with Jeff Reuben on this one.... VERY tough to parody but you did a great job with excellent pacing. Got video to go with this? : P
Thanks, zfunky1
Adagio - Great Job! Considering the difficulty of the pacing and the cleverness of your lines I'd have to say it's right there among your best stuff. 5's across...
Thanks Paul!
(SOTM) Already commented. Now restoring my 5s.
Thanks K1!
(SOTM) I already commented on this way back when...but it's still fabulous, Adagio! 5s...
Thanks a bunch, Arwen!
SOTM Was hoping it was the version they did with Run DMC =P. None the less, great parody. The pacing is perfect, and I can picture that big lipped freak singing this. 5^3
SOTM-I voted...
To hell with the recording! I want the video!
Thanks Ahnonamis, BloTown and Rick
Ahnonamis...:D I like that big lipped freak!
Rick...of whom do you want a video? Maybe that's my forte. ;)

Throw me a bone. I'm married. All I get to do is look.
SOTM Great stuff.
Thanks Leo Jay!
(SOTM July) So Pat, gonna post a little QuickTime movie of your performance? Heh heh heh ;-)
Maybe I will, Johnny. Until then, just use your imagination.
A neat little character sketch 545.
Thanks Agrimorfee.
(SOTM) I loved the 'sassy kind of chassis' rhyme and was giggling, giggling at the visual that came to mind from 'jiggle, jiggle bellybutton'. Well written but could have had more humour. 5-4-5
Thanks Jake.
(SOTM) This was pretty good.
Thanks Phil!
SOTM, 5-5-5 Good visuals and thanks for the sample
Thanks Dee!!
SOTM -- I think this is my favorite of yours, so far, Pat.
Thanks Melhi!
Can't believe I missed this first time around - excellent stuff, Pat.
The world simply needs more belly dancers, Patagio, so bless you for promoting the cause. Fun stuff - this may well be your best one yet. I particularly liked the "hey jiggle jiggle" line. And this is a total dork-wad question, but have you ever heard The Muppet Movie soundtrack? There's a song by Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem called "Can You Picture That?" Your "belly dancing wiggler" reminds me of that. Anyhoo, back on topic: Five scarves.
Thanks, Spaff! I never heard that soundtrack you mentioned, but you mentioned "hey jiggle jiggle" . Surprise to me, but that entire line and the one following came to me in the mddle of the night and ...suprise...the rhymes and pacing fit. So, I did build the whole thing around that. :D
(SOTM) Still excellent. Restoring votes.
Thanks Merry :)
Definitely interesting and fun; well done.
Thanks Claude :D
Adagio, that's a hell of a hard song to get the pacing sorted out on, you did a great job. Well done!
Peregrin...thanks a lot...:D
sotm--good job (again!)
(ABC05) see above
Thanks Agrimorfee!
(ABC 2005) Good work.
(ABC-D) My mouse is dancing all over the 5s. Can't believe that I missed this one. Very well written.
Thanks Rex and Guy.

(ABC) Good one
Thanks Melhi and Charlie.
(ABC) lovely work on a tough song - and some great internal rhyming adagio
Thanks Stu!
Still a giggle per jiggle!
Thanks Luke.
(ABC) Very funny :-)
Thanks Adam!
(ABC-D) Very creative.
(ABC) Good lord I love belly dancers!!!
Thanks Scathe and MG!
ABC--still great, Adagio...and I'm still avoiding table dancing...
Thanks Arwen!
(ABC) This was very special, Adagio...loved it! 555
Thanks for the read, Kristof!
Hey, this one's great! I can see it's been around for awhile, collecting dust...but as I always say, better late than never! Having taken dance lessons/classes for the past two years, I can relate to this in a sense. 5-5-5.
Thanks, Jeff!!
555 for this parody!! Do'nt hear much these days about this type of dancing. I prefer the slow dancing in the arms of strong CowBOY. No clumsiness there . . .
Thanks, littleDanceCakes. : )
