Parody Song Title:

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

There's been about five different songs named "Gloria" to hit the pop charts since the mid-Fifties. Professor Higgins just did Laura Branigan's. This is Van Morrison's, better known in the U.S. by the Shadows of Knight. They were never heard from again. Van was, though he not only got as fat as Elvis, but also lost his hair. But not his nerve.
Like to tell ya 'bout the brothers! You know they come around!
To get a five or a four for their parody sound!
They come around here just about midnight
to see some comments so good to make 'em feel all right!

And their name is F! L! O! R! I-i-i-i-i! O!
F-L-O-R-I-O! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
F-L-O-R-I-O! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
They're gonna write all night! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
To match their music's pace! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah!

They come around here just about midnight
to see some comments so good
I wanna tell ya, it makes 'em feel all right!
They put a song on this site, then they vote on my song!
They knock my pol-i-tics! But then I vote back in return!
Yeah, and it make me feel all right!

F-L-O-R-I-O! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
F-L-O-R-I-O! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
They're gonna write all night! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
To match their music's pace! (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
Is it good? (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
Is it right? (Floh-oh-oh-rio!)
Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah!
This is meant in fun, of course. You'll notice I don't actually insult either Florio, any of their songs, or any of their views...this time. As Kris Kristofferson would say, "There'll be time enough for sadness when you leave me."

Thanks Michael, When I clicked on it, I thought it was going to be an insult lol, like the one William Tong wrote about me...(its called "Florio" and sung tothe same song)....anyway I like this parody...but i must correct something: The original of this song was performed by the band known as Them, featuring Van the Man, they of course had another hit with "Here comes the night"..the Shadows of Night stole it from Van and had the hit in the USA with it...sorry, i just had to say that, lol..Im a huge Van fan......anyway....I want to see if I can name the five different songs lol: "Gloria" by the Cadillacs, and later I think the Passions..."Gloria" by Them, and Shadows of night..a slightly different "Gloria" by the Doors..and then of course Laura Branigans song......Ive got to be forgetting something lol hmmm

Well done, Michael. I suspect that you had to fight the urge to make a political point, and I commend your restraint.
