The Lyrics

It seems that the Vatican has gone trendy (if not trending) - one of two submissions today inspired by this article, that the Pope has started tweeting. From his holy iPad.
First you find twitter.com
Type your username, log on
Find something you like a bit
And hashtag it! hashtag it! hashtag it!

Then you find that you're confronted
With a tweet that's from the Pontiff.
Rather unsurprisingly
Praising our Lord Jesus C
Lookin' at Vatican tweets

Shame, no tweets from the confessional
Saying OMG! ROFL
Seeing if you can catch the sexy eye
Of Pope Benedictus X.V.I.
If you can, by something Papal
Indulgences paid for with PayPal
Two, four, six, eight,
Tag it and geolocate

On his iPad, the Pope's hand'll
Send his "news.va" handle
Now the virtual world he'll bless
Through RSS! RSS! SMS!

Catholic church is neverending
Only now it's started trending
Sent from the Chapel
From the Great God Apple
Readin' ecstatic an'
Quite enigmatic an'
Following Vatican tweets

I used to know a couple of atheists who would sing this song as a duet at the drop of a mitre. The Catholic Church has not survived as long as it has without being adaptive to the times and technologies available for spreading the word. Though the thought of a man of Pope Benedict's age ROFLHAO is a bit scary. He might fracture a hip. That would not be good.

The Catholic Church is remarkably good at adapting while pretending it's being constant :-)
