Song Parodies -> My Renovation
| Original Song Title: | "My Generation" |
| Original Performer: | The Who |
| Parody Song Title: | "My Renovation" |
| Parody Written by: | Rick Duncan |
People tried to fix my home
Called me on the tele-f-f-fphone
All they wanted was my dough
I hung up and told them "NO!"
It ain't hard to build a sh-sh-shelf
I think I'll do it all mys-s-s-elf
I don't have much bread to spend
But home repair is now my f-f-f-friend
My renovation
It's my renovation, baby
I went out to The Home Cl-cl-club
And bought myself a discount tub
I couldn't get it through the door
And then it scratched my bathroom f-f-floor
So I went back to buy some tile
Stood in that line for quite a while
When I got back I'd sprung a leak
Man, I was mopping for a w-w-week
But finally it looked real nice
Till I read the directions twice
The faucet that said "on" was not
And then I couldn't flush the pot
It's my renovation
It's my renovation, baby
Went back to the hardware st-st-store
Told them I came in for more
Now I'd spent most every dime
And hadn't showered in some time
I guess I must have done it wrong
Hot water doesn't last too long
A couple towels I need to hold
And hope I dry before I get cold
Talking 'bout my renovation
Talking 'bout my renovation

Dude, I've read 3 of your parodies (Gross to You, We Didn't Quite Retire - my favorite - and this one) in the last 5 minutes and you are a freakin' genius. Why you have so few votes and comments here is criminal. I'm new here, but I'm going to be visiting a lot. Keep up the good work!
This one is pretty good... :-)
Nice work with your parody. Now you know where DISCOVERY Ch got the term "Monster House"
Went to your site--It's not surprising you've been doing this awhile. You write some great stuff. And Bill, give us a little time; his stuff has only been here like two days. There's a lot of other songs here and it usually takes a while for someone new to get noticed.
Gee, Al, you think I could've written a parody this good?
I don't think so, Tim.
I can relate! I often tackle remodeling jobs around the house. Good work, Rick.
Hilarious! More fives, mate.
I must have missed this one... good job! Sometimes I'm glad to not be a homeowner!
PS... Rick, I tried to go to your website but it didn't work... is it up?
If it is, there's not much there. Mari is working on it.We just posted 3 songs on an MP3 site, we're gonna put a link in to Amiright tomorrow, but you may have heard them already.
