| Parody Song Title: | "Everyone Knows it's Paisley" |
| Parody Written by: | Jan Unwin |
What looks just like amoebas on acid
Or some other strange and unknown species?
What was so hip way back in the 60's?
Everyone knows it's paisley
I had a skirt, my friend had pajamas
Yes we were mod, as mod as can be
Re-a-lize now we looked like bandanas
When we would wear our paisley
Reminds me of embryos
Except that they have no toes
And they decorate our clothes
We wore it proud (we wore it proud)
We wore it proud (we wore it proud)
------ flute ------
Reminds me of big tadpoles
and tears that run down your nose
And overweight sperm? Hmm...no
Comma-shaped clouds (comma-shaped clouds)
Comma-shaped clouds (comma-shaped clouds)
What looks just like amoebas on acid
Or some other strange and unknown species?
What was so hip way back in the 60's?
Everyone knows it's paisley
[repeat and fade]

Don't need to read any further, you've earned your 555 with your opening line "What looks just like amoebas on acid".
Speaking of the resemblance to one-celled creatures, a co-worker of mine was on a tour where the guide was talking about "micro-organisms", and mispronounced it as "micro-orgasms", which then became our term for "paisley". Thus, "I see you're wearing the micro-orgasm tie today, Steve".
One of my earliest memories: recoiling in horror when my dad tried to pick me up, because I thought he had pictures of slugs on his paisley dress shirt and him trying to explain to me what paisley was. Nice job.
Hi Jan. Yes, "Everyone Knows It's Paisley" and "Groovy Shoes Day" could be sister songs! Amazing that they both are posted today, and the original songs are both from 1967. I'm sure Paul Robinson can provide us with an explanation.
this is your funniest and best one this week...embryos with no toes... i'm laughing my ass off...good job, as usual...5....s

I have photos of my mother dressed in this stuff. Frightening! Great parody tho'!
Great job! It also reminds me of Prince's studio in Minnesota named Paisley Park.
Thank you Tim, Meriadoc, Sloatead, Alvin, David, Melhi, Johnny, and Steve. I liked your comment, Melhi. There are plenty of real slugs where I live. Steve, wouldn't a macro-orgasm be better? :P
Very well done!
I remembered just enough of the song to vote. I like the line amoebas on acid. :D 5's
