Song Parodies -> Born to be Pope
| Original Song Title: | "Born to be wild" |
| Original Performer: | Steppenwolf |
| Parody Song Title: | "Born to be Pope" |
| Parody Written by: | Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd |
A miracle took place when I wrote this parody; MS Word changed the word "chivy" to "chivvy", and that is not in my auto correction list. I didn't dare do anything else than to keep the alteration.
God! The miter's stunning
Staying of the byway
Booking your debenture
for whatever sin's your way
New Pope is gonna be a happ'nin'
Cake the world in amazing grace
Squirt out all the nuns at once but
abode in his place
Holy smoke enlightening
Chivvy demons under
Chasing those who've sinned
and if healing, it's a wonder
New Pope is gonna be a happ'nin'
Cake the world in amazing grace
Squirt out all the nuns at once but
abode in his place
As the true Deity's cope
He was born, born to be Pope
He has climbed so high
Heaven's now the sky
Born to be Pope!
Born to be Pope!
Repeat first verse, bridge and chorus

Very good, Peter!
as far as I know, Dalai Lamas reincarnate. But do Popes circulate in the samsara cycle as well?
Bless thee, Saint Peter. 555. Susanna, so far as I know, they do, unless they attain liberation in the First or Second Bardo by recognizing the Primary Clear Light, or by recognizing the Secondary Clear Light, or by recognizing the Peaceful and/or Wrathful Deities as being the products of their own mind.
Nice rhyming with the original song's words, Peter. And a 5-5-5 for the effort, too. ;)
Loved your first line Peter - and the last verse
Okay, I'm not up to date with my religious terms but I'm sure I'll be when I go to Heaven ( Satan: YOU'RE GOING TO HELL RED ANT HAHAHAHA ). ?. Umm, maybe I should learn them. 5's
I'm confused about chivy vs chivvy. Onelook.com shows quick definition for both words as the same.
Quick definitions (chivy)
verb: annoy continually or chronically

I missed the point about the miracle somehow. Could you elaborate or would it be too annoying?

Josh: Thanx!
Susanna and Johnny: That level of Buddhism/Hinduism is a bit over my head, though I was definitely smitten after having read James Redfield’s “The Celestine Prophecy”, but I’m sure that when the time comes for Dalai Lama’s succession (the first one in this new online media age) it will be even more interesting to follow than the Vatican Pope’s, both in real life and here on AmIright, with folks like the two of you around.
Serafina, Stuart: Thanx:!
Red Ant: I’ll recommend the book mentioned above, for an interesting and alternative viewpoint of things if nothing else.
Guy: I’m using a translation/dictionary tool called Babylon from the site www.babylon.com for all my English-Swedish and some of my English-English look-it-up needs, the payed for version (it’s that good, generally) and it says:
Chivy: (Noun) chase or hunt; hunting cry. (Verb) scurry; maneuver or secure gradually
Chivvy: (Verb) nag; pester somebody; annoy someone persistently
As for a miracle we’ll have to take into account that it took place in MS Word, it was probably less a miracle than the programs simulated AI trying to communicate with its user by introducing itself by its primary function. :-)

Thanks K1. I can see the difference with these meanings but it was probably just an MS Word undocumented feature (Microsoft speak for bug). I'd call it more of a revelation than a miracle. But anytime MS does something that is right or makes sense is just shy of a miracle anyway. Peace brother.
So, Johnny, you've too read the Tibetan Book of Dead? Given to my song "NDE" (today's songs), I must say we are spirits in the material world (no sting intended)
very funny material...5s plus
