| Parody Song Title: | "Doo-Dah, Doo-Dah" |
| Parody Written by: | John A. Barry |
CHORUS:
Doo-dah, horse running, running.
The race at Camptown, girl,
Is a whole five miles long--whew!
Running, oh, doo-dah, doo-dah.
The Camptown races, girl,
Gonna run day and night too.
I just can't believe that you bet on horse number 2
(You bet on horse number 2).
It's a bobtail nag; the bay's gonna be coming through
(Bay's gonna be comin' through).
CHORUS
In your pocket's tin, your hat's caved in, but look, I see
(Your hat's caved in, but look, I see)
Your horse gonna win; you are gonna make some money
(You're gonna make some money)
Doo-dah--poor you were, but now you've made some money,
The bobtail nag came through and the bay beat.
Bobtail nag won in a clean sweep, neigh, neigh, neigh.
Pour a little champagne, baby, oh yeah!
You won at Camptown, girl,
Betting on horse number 2.
Oh, doo-dah. . . .
Doo-dah, horse running, running.
The race at Camptown, girl,

Running, oh, doo-dah, doo-dah.

I'd have never bet that Stephen Foster would meet the Archies.
Funny mash-up!
Brilliant combination! I'd like to hear it performed!
I can't see how anyone could possibly give this a 1 for funny. It's hilarious. A few accents on the wrong syllables, but other than that the scansion is pretty good too.
