Song Parodies -> Voting Tory
| Original Song Title: | "Growing on Me" |
| Original Performer: | The Darkness |
| Parody Song Title: | "Voting Tory" |
| Parody Written by: | Jim A |
about the sudden reappearance of Michael Howard, the upswing in popularity of the Tory Party, and the inability of most newspapers to realise they're a bunch of crooks
Thought we were rid of you
Thatcher and Major too
I don't even know who is voting them too
Yeah Ye-ah
'Cos Michael Howard's everywhere
one more guy without much hair
Hague pretends that he don't care - it's not fair
Tony's being punished for all his offences
We wanna lose him but not replace him with these pretenders
it's time to vanish post-election day
they think you're decent now,
And I'm leaving the country again
they're really voting Tory (Oh are we really that screwed?)
they're really voting Tory (Oh are we really that screwed?)
as bad as Tony
Labours voters quickly fled
Lib Dem's in third, it's said
I won't ever like you 'til you're dead
Yes, you heard what I said
I thought we'd seen you off but you just won't go
like the undead it seems, but I don't want your support to grow
hope you don't get to lead, you never know . . .
don't you need me, need me to vote
they're really voting Tory (Oh are we really that screwed?)
they're really voting Tory (Oh are we really that screwed?)
as bad as Tony
they're really voting Tory (Oh are we really that screwed?)

A sad indictment on the current state of British Politics...but a good parody. 545
I had no idea!! I once said that the American Revolution was a good example of a neccessary time for war, to shut up the radical pacifists, but now not even that war was wanted by some people! I had no idea that there was still a Tory party until I looked at your parody. By the way, DKTOS.
