The Lyrics

What is the purpose
Contest going on and on
Never ending write and rewrite
From dusk to dawn
Oh, Sangria swirl
You sure really hit the spot
Help me write with care, there

Why'd I have to say I'd try
Sixty-seven parodized
Churned 'em out, 'bout a metric ton
It's not even halfway done!

Tired head
Tired head
Tired head
'Nother one due

Tired head - the deadline date
Tired head - for sixty-eight
Tired head - will not wait so write the night through

You know its name:
Artistry, that David-spawn
Great endurance race and
Slate of so many songs
Driving me to drink
A hundred forty Salty Dogs*
Yeah, yeah

Started writing days ago
Squeezing out the words so slow
Seventy-three rounds ahead
Seventy-three rounds to dread

Tired head
Tired head
Tired head
What will I do

Tired head - the stress is great
Tired head - I'm losing weight
Tired head - it's so late and still I'm not through
(Not through...not through...not through...)

Contest started years ago
And there still are years to go
So I write although instead
Wish that I could go to bed!

Tired head
Tired head
Tired head
Got to push through

Tired head - there's no debate
Tired head - I must create
Tired head - something great before it comes due
*Salty Dog = vodka and grapefruit juice on ice in a glass with a salted rim. A hundred forty = number of rounds in Artistry.

The only bad thing about this is that it wouldn't have much of an audience outside of Amiright because nobody else would know about the Artistry competition... Heck, I'm sure not even everybody on Amiright knows about the Artistry competition.

Matthias, I don't mind writing for an audience of five. :-) Thanks, Phil!

Yeah Matty's right and so are you, it is an audience of 5. Do I detect a feeling of ennui? :)

(Artistry) I don't care if a parody's only for an audience of two - if I'm part of that two, that's all that matters to me :D Interesting parody, let's hope you survive the next seventy-or-so rounds so you can keeping pumping out quality stuff like this. 555!

LOL, When I started this competition, I had no idea we'd get so many artists submitted. . .tough OS to take on, impressive.
