Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Goldie Lookin' Chain

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Greatest Hits album at Amazon.com
Goldie Lookin' Chain's, "Caravan (hidden track)"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Camber sands
The Real Lyrics:
Caravan
The Story: I found this hidden track on the album Greatest Hits. They were singing about holidays, and we had been on a holiday to Camber Sands. So I mentioned to Dad that they mentioned Camber Sands. - Submitted by: David Guetta
Goldie Lookin' Chain's, "Half Man, Half Machine"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Sucking off and tenners
The Real Lyrics:
Sucking off antennas
The Story: I first heard the 'tennas' part of 'antennas' and thought he was singing about 'tenners' as in ten pound notes. It wasn't till recently that I realised he was saying 'antennas'! - Submitted by: sonikal
Goldie Lookin' Chain's, "You Knows I Loves You"
The Misheard Lyrics:
I bought you these hampers
They cost me twelve pounds fom Argos
Elizabeth Duke!
The Real Lyrics:
I bought you this necklace
It cost me twelve pounds from Argos
Elizabeth Duke!
The Story: After listening to this on the cd 'Greatest Hits', I was really puzzled! I was thinking: 'Weird lyrics? I am a glc fan, but I cannot understand these lyrics. They do not sell hampers in Argos, and if they did, it would not be Elizabeth Duke, that's jewellry.' I wrote to the fan club the other morning, confused about the lyrics, snd they wrote back it was 'this necklace, it cost me twelve pounds' and not 'these hampers, they cost me twelve pounds' A fan of the music, but the lyrics, he not knows 'em! - Submitted by: Pat Ted
