| "Lohan Holiday" | On Ali Lohan's Christmas CD, "Lohan Holiday". It is not performed live. It isn't very popular if the few reviews of the CD on Amazon.com are any indication. One reviewer cited the song as evidence that "Some people will buy anything". The repetitive lyrics to this song, "Let me take you on a Lohan Holiday" are rather indulgent and hokey. Plus, what if I tried to take them up on their offer to share their family's holiday? If I somehow succeeded in finding any members of the Lohan family and told them I was there to experience their holiday, wouldn't I more likely be branded a stalker than treated to the wonderfully magical Christmas that the song promises? Nonetheless, I feel rather sorry for poor young Ali and the way that it seems her first (and possibly only) CD is being so brutally trashed. This song could better be treated as a quaint misfire than as an utter abomination. And however crass it may be, some other songs on her CD aren't all that bad. And it can't be easy for her, working in the shodow of older family members, who by all accounts have done more to foul up their own lives than she possibly could have so far. We really ought to give the poor kid a chance. - Courtney Jane |
