Why:
I used to think I liked this song, perceiving it to be one of the most jolly of the Christmas season. That was before I noticed this misplaced clunker of a line. Amidst what seems otherwise to be a blithe celebration of a Christmas season only just beginning, someone saw fit to say that mom and dad just wanted to get it all over with and get the kids back in school. Geez -- that's SAD. For me, that pretty much ruins an otherwise delightful song.
