Tennessee Ernie Ford's, "Sixteen Tons"
The Lyrics:
If you see me coming, better step aside.
A lot of men didn't. A lot of men died.
One fist of iron, the other of steel,
If the right one don't get you, then the left one will.
Why:
It is ironic. If you look at COLLECTIONS of songs of Tennessee Ernie Ford, it seems he would have been wanted to be remembered mainly as a gospel singer. But instead he became pretty much a one-hit wonder for this song. Perhaps the song is meant to be humorous. Nonetheless, the potentially menacing nature of these lyrics is pretty much self-explanatory.
