Oh What A Lovely War's, "They Were Only Playing Leapfrog"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
One fat flea flew up the flue as another fat flea flew down.
Why They're Inappropriate:
Contrary to an apparently popular belief, which must have inspired this line, fleas have no wings and cannot fly. The name of the taxonomic order to which they belong is 'Siphonaptera', meaning wingless suckers, reflecting their flightlessness. They can jump considerable distances, perhaps contributing to an illusion that they fly.
