All you need is love

I look at the world and I notice it's turning.
While my guitar, gently weeps.
With every mistake we must surely be learning.
Still my guitar, gently weeps.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night.
Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
All your life,
You were only waiting,
for this moment to arise.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.

And in the end, The love you take,
Is equal to the love you make.

In early 1970 the Beatles were totally burned out as a band. All those years of long hours in the studios, alienation and isolation resulting from their excessive tremendous fab "more popular than Jesus and television" superstar megafame had imploded on them - and individual outside interests were breaking the band up. The "Abbey Road" album hinted at this. The upcoming contractual obligation fulfiller rockumentary film and album "Let It Be" showed the signs also. Solo albums by Ringo and Paul were coming soon. Paul said in an interview that "the Beatles had left the Beatles but no one wants to say that the party's over". Nonetheless, the group's financial and business situation was a totally god-awful mess. Years of legal wrangling with that "business shit" was to come. It took several years to get it all straightened out. During that period the Beatles were finally dissolved as a band and a business entity around 1975-1976. The former bandmates have collaborated and guested on each others' solo endeavors several times since.

John Lennon was once asked in an interview 'Is Ringo the best drummer in the world?'
John Lennon replied 'Ringo isn't even the best drummer in The Beatles'

Now that you know who you are what do you want to be?

Reporter: Are you a mod or a rocker?
Ringo: Um, no. I'm a mocker.

THE GOLDEN APPLE CORPS.

The Golden Apple Corps* is an honorary position for the Keepers of The Sacred Chao,
so that they can put 'KSC' after their names.
It says little, does less, means nothing.
* Not to be confused with The Apple Corps Ltd. of those four singers.
We thought of it first.

The Beatles will exist without us. - George Harrison

The world used us as an excuse to go mad.

I call it Arthur.
- George Harrison, 1964, when asked what the Beatles called their haircuts.

We were the Spice Boys.
- George Harrison

The Beatles exist apart from my Self. I am not really Beatle George. Beatle George is like a suit or shirt that I once wore on occasion and until the end of my life people may see that shirt and mistake it for me.
- George Harrison

We ice skate.
- George Harrison - 1964 when asked by a reporter 'What do you do when you're cooped up in a hotel room between shows?'>

Theirs [The Beatles] is a happy, cocky, belligerently resourceless brand of harmonic primitivism... In the Liverpudlian repertoire, the indulgent amateurishness of the musical material, though closely rivaled by the indifference of the performing style, is actually surpassed only by the ineptitude of the studio production method. (Strawberry Fields suggests a chance encounter at a mountain wedding between Claudio Monteverdi and a jug band)
- Glenn Gould

We did consider the name 'Beetles,' but Jerry [Allison] said,
'Aw, that's just a bug you'd want to step on,'
so we immediately dropped that.
- Niki Sullivan
(Buddy Holly & The Crickets)

You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears'

'What makes you think you're something special when you smile?'
