as a Massachusetts resident who had to live under 6 years of the Romeny administration, may I say nothing disappoints me more than this guy winning in '08. You know he didn't seek re-election because he didn't stand a chance.

Great recording and very funny, with some very unexpected rhymes. A lot of the content was over my head, but 5s all the same.

I echo what Chucky G said. I too am a Mass. resident. Great job Spaff and Robert! Wonderful rhymes as usual.

Thanks for the chuckle...I enjoyed the parody.

Mr. Sumsion, thank you for reminding us that it is possible (maybe even desireable) for a politically-themed parody to be appreciated by people of all (or almost all) political persuasions. I don't think Candidate Romney is going to get elected, but he would definitely enjoy this song.

What's not to love? Great rhyming and meter, and fun, inside jokes. I think the American sense of humor might be the one thing that will save us.
Lucy - April 19, 2007 - Report this comment
This has good beat...and.. I think Romney would get a kick out of it.. especially if it helped get him elected. I agree with the Kat Green.. We all need a good sense of American humor.. It makes us unique human beings..

We need more politicians like Rommney. I hope he makes it and let the liberals find out how an honest man can run the country.
Cindy - April 20, 2007 - Report this comment
That was one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time! Great job! I hope the whole country will stand back and take a look at the moral character of the other canidates out there and see who they really want running our country... Could it be so bad to have a Mormon?
grammie pammie - April 20, 2007 - Report this comment
i loved it.. very funny..hope everyone who needs to laugh gets to hear it..might not be so bad to have a mormon for a change.. dont think it cud be any worse than what we have had in the past!!!!
DenaDarlene - April 21, 2007 - Report this comment
Very funny, I am still laughing. I think the world would be a better place if Mormons ran it, at least we would know they were talking to the real 'Leader'.
Bermudagirl - April 22, 2007 - Report this comment
Very funny, Mitt would get kick out of it also. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad to have a Morman in the White House
Candace Salima - April 22, 2007 - Report this comment
LOVED IT! Mitt is who we need in the Oval Office -- its time for liberal half of this nation to realize that living in America is not free! Mitt's religious upbringing instilled in him honesty, strength, integrity and perseverance! What's not to like!

I'm a good Mormon woman in Utah who's one great sin for many years has been Robert Lunds, at times irreverant, parodies of politicians and the overall funny ways of Utah. I LOVE this one Robert. "Fans are Forever"...only a Mormon will get that.

Very Clever, very clever!!

Chucky, you have lived in Mass. under Kennedy rule, and you feel badly about Mitt? What do people see in Mass, that EVERYONE else sees soooo differently. Must be the vodka!
ChuckyG - April 24, 2007 - Report this comment
We see the giant deficits in the state budget he claimed to have "balanced". We see him out of state more often than he was in it, bad mouthing all of the evil liberals that elected him and making the state look bad. We see him veto bills the state government passed with near unanimous votes, so he could look better to his neocon pals he wants support for in his presidential bid. I have voted for Ted Kennedy once in my entire voting life. Back in 96 when he ran against this tool.

The only thing Mitt has going for him, is he's the only "family values" conservative without a divorce. That's the only nice thing I can think of to say about him. Heck, he barely even helped his former lt. governor in her bid to claim his seat, no wonder she did ran so poorly.

I am a member of the LDS Church (fna Mormons), and laughed to tears. Much is an inside joke on our selves. I pray Mitt didn't laugh himself to death. We need him in the whitehouse with his extraordinary wisdom and family balance, in his approach to freedom and guiding us, the American people.
Jim Reynolds - April 24, 2007 - Report this comment
Hey if he is all of that, I'll vote for him.
Jennifer - April 24, 2007 - Report this comment
I am a member of the LDS church and I do admit I found this poem humerous. But I think Mitt does have some great things to add to this country, and not just for 'mormons'. He has a great view on many issues and I support him.

I GUESS INTEGRITY, FAMILY VALUES, AND HONESTY IN THIS COUNTRY DON'T COUNT ANYMORE. I CAN'T THINK OF ANY OF THE CANDIDATES I WOULD RATHER HAVE REPRESENT OUR COUNTRY THAN MITT ROMNEY. HEY JIM REYNOLDS, HE IS ALL THAT, AND I'LL VOTE FOR HIM TOO.

Did I like it.............. Heck yes!! sounded like something my talented son parodied years ago on stage, while yet a young sprout. I agree! Mitt would love it!!

I loved it! I am also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints, and so can appreciate all the "inside" jokes. I've never met Mitt, but I think he'd appreciate it for what it is. Good luck to him in 2008!
Yenya - April 27, 2007 - Report this comment
I loved it! I am LDS and we have do a whole lot worse than a Mormon as President. I am not a republican, but I will consider him in 2008. There are many things to love about him and the values he would bring to our country! ANYONE has got to be 100% better than the President we now have!
Jay G - April 27, 2007 - Report this comment

I'll be sending this to a lot of family and friends. Very funny and very well done. I frankly don't know all that much about Mitt except what I hear in the media. Generally the media tries to ignore the candidates they don't like in hopes they will die on the vine. If they can get some "traction", then I suspect this little parody will be one of the nicer things to come out regarding Mitt. We can probably judge how well his campaign is succeeding by the intensity of the attacks from the mainstream media. It will be interesting to see if the "powers-that-be" try to take him out like they did his father when they latched on to his comment about having been brainwashed regarding the Viet Nam war.
Ruth - April 29, 2007 - Report this comment
very clever, I enjoyed most of it. Hats off to Mr. Romney for throwing his hat into the ring. Personally, I don't know why any person would want to become president. No matter what you do, you are wrong to at least half of the country.
JOYE - April 30, 2007 - Report this comment
LOVED IT, MADE ME CHUCKEL, MORMONS HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR..... WHICH IS GOOD NOW DAYS. PERSONALLY, WE NEED A MORAL MAN WHO IS NOT AFRAID TO SAY NO TO THAT WILL IN THE END DESTROY US. I SAY, GO MITT......

If you can't laugh at yourself you don't belong in politics. But seriously we need some one who lives his values, or even more who has some. EVerything I've heard from friends in Massachusetts support having Governor ROmney become President ROmney.
