Song Parodies -> "'Nu-Cle-ar' v1.0 (Bush Pronunciation Guide)"

Original Song Title:

"Maria"

Parody Song Title:

"'Nu-Cle-ar' v1.0 (Bush Pronunciation Guide)"

Parody Written by:

Tommy Turtle

The Lyrics

In the author's "State o' th' Union" (parody on "Western Union"), he asked the eternal question, "Can't anyone teach him (Dubya) to say 'nuclear'?" A fellow AIRhead (AIR = Am I Right), initals MP, responded to say no, no one could. Probably true, but in trying to make every possible allowance, the author considered that perphaps no one ever had put the information in a form that W. could remember. This and its sequel, "'Nu-Cle-ar'" v2.0 (Bush Speech Therapy cont.)", represent the author's attempts to perform that service.
Nu-Cle-ar...

The most mispronounced word I ever heard:
Nu-Cle-ar
Nu-Cle-ar, Nu-Cle-ar, Nu-Cle-ar...

All the words that George W. flubs, the most grating word...
Nu-Cle-ar
Nu-Cle-ar, Nu-Cle-ar, Nu-Cle-ar...

Nu-Cle-ar!
How come Bush cannot say, "Nu-Cle-ar"?
So patently absurd
It's not that hard a word
To speak
Nu-Cle-ar!
Embarrasses us on "Nu-Cle-ar"
The world he must DUMBfound
And surely does he sound
Oblique!

Nu-Cle-ar!
It's so simple once you begin it
Just remember that there's no "Q" in it
Nu-Cle-ar
Your brain will then "Clear" in a minute!

The most mispronounced word I ever heard
Nu-Cle-ar...
Please note that it is unlawful to read the above parody without also reading its sequel, "'Nu-Cle-ar' v2.0 (Bush Speech Therapy cont.)". Anyone found in violation shall have her/his phone tapped, email and snailmail read, home and person searched, and life made generally miserable. Oh, wait a minute! That's happening to you already, isn't it? Hmm, then that's not much of a threat... © 2006 Tommy Turtle. More eloquent voices than Dubya's are here.

TT, I think that common mis-pronunciation of "nuclear" is simply an expression of contemporary American vernukeyouler.

Another one I hear a lot is "ju-dish-yoo-ary", for "judiciary", which started before W became prez.

Also a great parody.

The other one is definitely better. If you're gonna do a "West Side Story" parody for Bush, it's better to do, "Boy, boy, crazy boy..."

Larry, thanks... Michael, OK, you go for it, man.... thanks.

Well done. but I think your longest line works better if you start with "Of" and omit "George":

Of all the words that W. flubs, the most grating word:

John J., thanks; one of the drafts was similar to your idea, but the OS lyrics I found and tune I remember are:
all the BEAU-ti-ful-SOUNDS of the WORLD in a SING-le word... (hence)
all the WORDS that george DOUB-le-yoo FLUBS, the most GRAT-ing word...
Both the length and inflection of this line in the OS are different from its predecessor. It was tdefinitely tricky for me to visualize it without the original recording playing, so syllables and empahsis were attempted to be matched as above.
Thanks for taking the time and thought to write and for the compliment. Also, one knows one has effectively struck a nerve when one receives a 111, so thanks to whomever did that for the confirmation.

HA, great idea and execution. Very well stated. Especially loved the 'no Q in it' line
