An anchor can prevent you from getting destroyed or it can prevent you from moving forward. Mr. Rather did the latter. Very clever title and an appropriate farewell.
What's the difference between Dan Rather and Guy DiRito? Dan is a credit to the State of Texas. Rather told the truth about Georgie the AWOL pilot. He just didn't back it up right. So now we've got fill-ins on CBS, Brian "JV" Williams on NBC, and Peter "the Dean" Jennings on ABC. Well, there's always Jim Lehrer on PBS, which is quite fair and always balanced. If only CNN were as liberal as Guys like you claim it is.
