The Lyrics

After the Iowa caucus, we've had a look at the runners for the Republican nomination for the 2012 presidential election... and the world has got serious problems if any of them get elected. You'd think a country of 300 million plus people would be able to find some more able candidates, wouldn't you?
They're girding up the loins for an electoral campaign
To overthrow Obama, it's about him they complain
Some candidates are weird, some are totally insane
Let's hope they'll soon be gone

(Chorus)
Who will get the nomination?
What are their views on creation,
Medicare and fornication?
Let's hope they'll soon be gone

I've problems with Mitt Romney and they're really rather great
Thought Obama was Osama back in two-thousand-and-eight*
It's not 'cause he's a Mormon that he can go procreate
Let's hope he'll soon be gone

(Chorus)
Glory, gee - please not Mitt Romney
'Cause he's just a little barmy
Him and all his Mormon army
Let's hope he'll soon be gone

What I've seen of Rick Santorum is that he's a hypocrite:
He wants freedom to exploit and turn poor people's lives to shit
But doesn't want the freedom to choose where you stick your dick
Let's hope he'll soon be gone

(Chorus)
Find the voters and implore 'em:
Glory, please not Rick Santorum
May his vote not reach a quorum
Let's hope he'll soon be gone

Rick Perry thinks non-Christians will all be doomed to Hell
Newt Gingrich sleeps around when e'er his wife is feeling ill
Or suing for divorce while she is still in hospit-il
Let's hope they'll soon be gone

(Chorus)
Glory, Ging-rich and Perry
How many times will one remarry
And the other lose his mem'ry
Let's hope they'll soon be gone

Ron Paul's libertarian, and getting on a bit
Huntsman's a nonentity - even he must admit
And then Christine O'Donnel - she's a lunatic half-wit
Let's hope they'll soon be gone

(Chorus)
What a choice for the election
Worst in all my recollection
Hope they deal well with rejection
And soon they'll all be gone

So now it's time for GOP people to make their picks
But there's a problem for them when selecting from this six**
Republican candidates: a bunch of prucking ficks
I guess Obama's won

(Chorus)
Glory, what a bunch of losers
Nuts, adulterers and boozers
Maybe beggars can't be choosers
Let's hope they'll soon be gone

* OK.. nearly 2008: right at the end of 2007
** ..or seven. What's a candidate more or less, anyway?

Lol - absolutely hits the Right nail on the head....very funny take on this political charade...they all seem like cartoon characters... and should all be in one movie, called, "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad, mad, political world"

Wow! Love this one. Especially the varied choruses. Prucking Ficks. That's a good summation. I've always been partial to parodies of the Battle Hymn.

You nailed it--the 7 dwarfs. Used to be 8, but Gropey (Cain), dropped out early.

:-) Thanks, guys

Have just realized that since posting this, Christine O'Donnel has pulled out, too. And then there were six. JB - what about an "Itsy bity teeny weeny etc." parody:

Two, three, four - who should we be voting for?
Who's voting..
Gingrich, Huntsman, Ron Paul, Romney
O'Donnell, Santorum, Perry...
