| Original Song Title: | "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" |
| Original Performer: | Traditional |
| Parody Song Title: | "Michael's Parodies Are Renowned" |
| Parody Written by: | Merry & Pippin |
This is the second in our parody artist series, a tribute to Michael Pacholek. We had this on the back burner for a week and I see somebody already beat us to the Santa Claus theme. So many ideas, so little time!
You better watch out
Beware of his blurbs
He hails from New York
He doesn't mince words
Michael's parodies are renowned
He writes for the Left
He emulates Tong
He's funny as hell
Even when he is wrong
Michael's parodies are renowned
His prose it is quite sweeping
He's not Ricardian
(Tho' only he will know that line
I just had to get it in!)
He comments with puns
And longish essays
And often quotes
Ten people a day
Michael's parodies are renowned
He's bashing Dubya
And slamming sports teams
Hyping Big Bird
He takes on all themes
Michael's parodies are renowned
He taught us how to spell it
It's easy as can be
P-A-C-H-O-L-E-K
That's the way you say Mikey
Now his rhymes they have clout
'Cus he's done his Pie
And his Rhapsody
That's showing you why:

This was hillarious...."He’s not Ricardian (Tho’ only he will know that line I just had to get it in!)" .....that made me laugh even though I have no clue what the Ricardian part is about lol
LOL, Dude this a great parody, all 5's
Ha! Billy! Did you see? GhettoJohn has turned us into a single male! Add that to your list of possibilities! Thanks both for the comments!
Great tribute to a parody writer who is not always right but always fun to read. But isn't he from New Jersey, not New York? I found the "Ricardian" reference very amusing - it was from the comments below Malcolm Higgins' "Those Tragic Morons," one of several of his parodies that Michael, Merry and Pippin took in directions that not even Malcolm envisioned.
"He hails from New Jersey" would have had too many syllables! :-D
I will add that I think you guys write excellent parodies youselves !
Thank you mandamoo - you display impeccible taste!
Na zdrowie! That's Polish for "Great job!" The two of you just brought a big freakin' smile to my day. And the New York reference -- "This New Jersey kid, he doesn't mince words" might have worked -- gets a pass for the same reason Paul Simon chose Joe DiMaggio over "Where have you gone, Mickey Mantle?" for "Mrs. Robinson." There are pacing absolutists here, with all the humor of a figure-skating judge. I suspect Richard III would have been one. At first, I thought it said "Picardian," as in Jean-Luc of the Enterprise-D and -E. Oh, shoot, I mentioned skating. This means another 15 "Sk8er Boi" parodies are on the way. Sorry.
I see I'm the first to comment on this one for two years, well, better being aware of it late than never. :-)
