[Yoof]
London's burning, London's burning
Get your hoodie, get your hoodie
Riot! Riot! Riot! Riot!
Grab a telly, grab a telly

[Journalists]
London's burning, London't burning
Fetch a film crew, fetch a film crew
Enquire! Enquire!
Cameras rolling, cameras rolling

[Politicians]
London't burning, London's burning
Ain't it dreadful? Ain't it dreadful?
Dire, dire! Dire, dire!
Send the troops in! Send the troops in!

London's burning, London't burning
Get the riot shields, get the riot shields
Fire, fire! Fire, fire!
Pour on water cannon water

I've come to understand that the Brittish press is really horrible, but I didn't know until now that it was so bad that the people are actually trying to topple the government to get rid of Robert Murdoch's regime! ;-)

Now how about "London Falling."

Phil - Inspired! I have always admired the courage of the "bobbies" because they seldom if ever carry firearms. Am I correct that this affectionate nickname (as well as the less-flattering moniker "peelers") comes from Robert Peel, who created the metropolitan police in the 19th century? ;D

What's happening reminds me of 28 Days Later and/or Children of Men. Good show, Phil!

Saw your link on facebook and decided to check it out - DKTOS, thought it was gonna be the Clash, but nice parody anyway.

Peter - there have been some fairly cynical suggestions that this was orchestrated by Murdoch & co to get themselves off the front page ;-)

OMR - yes, you are correct in the derivation of "bobbies" and "peelers".

Merry - Good to see you around :-) The OS is very simple:
London's burning, London's burning
Fetch the engines, fetch the engines
Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire!
Pour on water, pour on water

..sung as a round - the sort of thing children sing in school. Thanks, everyone :-)
