The Lyrics

It's that time of year again (my favorite). Just love writing the Christmas parodies. I'm starting this season off in a sort of bi-lingual fashion. The bottom comments block will provide a guide for the Japanese language stuff and the pronunciation of some of the "Engrish" words as they are spoken by people who speak English as a second language. My military career bestowed upon me three wonderful years living in Japan in which I have many fond memories. So I am starting off the season with this light hearted parody. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
Frashing kamras mo,
Inna Eh Hoese I did stay. (a)
Air-fields near Tok-yo, (b)
Speaking funny ways.
Ales from Jap-an bring
Yo-polai one night, (c)
Stiko make you raff and sing, (d)
Karaoke sing it right - NOT!

Jingrish tales, Jingrish tells,
Jinrish ah-no-nay!
Had some fun and took a ride,
On a motor bike one day - Hey!
Bike rode well, 'til I fell,
Hurt myself, OK?
Watakushi-wa wa no itai dai (e)
No itai dai mo nay. (f)

Ato de nai ah-so, (g)
Means later as they hide.
No moon or stars tonight,
Was cloudy dark outside.
Eh Hoese base on, I'm tanked,
I gorged on drink 'til sot.
Then got into a riki sha dank, (h)
And passed out on the spot. Wot?

Jingrish tales, Jingrish tells,
Ah-no-nay desu ka! (i)
Had some fun in rising sun,
In the Eh Hoese where I stay - hey!
Jingrish tales, Jingrish tells,
Jingrish ah-no-nay!
The rising sun was one fun ride,
I'll remember all my days!

Flashing To-key-oh,
Back in my Air Force days.
Airfield covered snow,
Enjoying Christmas day!
Friends like Bob and Bing,
Asian friends so bright.
Matsu and Hiroko sing,
In Japanese delight. Hite!

Matsu and Hiroko sing,
In Japanese delight.

The rising sun was one fun ride,
I'll remember all my days!

(a) Eh Hoese - Japanese speak for Air Force - Romanji character "F" is heard and spoken as "H" to our Asian friends.

(b) Tok-yo - We in the west pronounce this city as Toe-key-oh. The Japanese actually pronounce using two syllables.

(c) Yo-Polai - Loose translation: drunk/intoxicated

(d) Stinko - Jinglish for drunk - means same in both languages.

(e) Watakushi pronounced as Wa-tuk-she.

(f) Loose phase translation: I think I just hurt myself.

(g) Ato de nai ah-so - Loose translation: later there is none/Isn't there.

(h) Riki Sha - Pronounced as rick shaw.

(i) Ah-no-nay desu ka - Desu Ka pronounced as Desk-ka Loose translation: This is so, right is it not?
