Song Parodies -> Oh, PHB
| Original Song Title: | "O Christmas Tree" |
| Original Performer: | Traditional |
| Parody Song Title: | "Oh, PHB" |
| Parody Written by: | Phil Alexander |
Dedicated to the Dilbertian "Pointy-Haired Boss" character, this is a theme I wouldn't mind betting there's a few people out there can relate to... inspired by Scott Adams' Dilbert Blog, which requested readers to produce a St Valentine's Day poem for their boss.
Oh PHB, oh PHB
Thy manner's most annoying
Oh PHB, oh PHB
My work I ain't enjoying
Thy double-standards I can see
Epitomize hypocrisy
Oh PHB, oh PHB
Why can't you simply leave me be
Oh PHB, oh PHB
I hate it when you walk in
Oh PHB, oh PHB
You always end up talking
Thy ramblings do not make sense
And cast doubt on your competence
Oh PHB, oh PHB
And then you pass the buck to me
Oh PHB, oh PHB
You're totally non-techie
Oh PHB, oh PHB
Don't try to write that spec for me
I now believe you'd not suspect
Your laptop is an etch-a-sketch
Oh PHB, oh PHB
The height of sheer stupidity
Oh PHB, oh PHB
Thy "help" I found a flaw in
Oh PHB, oh PHB
Why must you stick your oar in?
Ain't saying you're incompetent
But Hell.. compared to David Brent
Oh PHB, oh PHB
Just leave the ****ing job to me
Oh PHB, oh PHB
I say this without rancour
Oh PHB, oh PHB
That you're a silly fellow
'Fraid I can't take it any more
It's time that I walked out the door
Oh PHB, oh PHB
This song is a "goodbye" from me
Thy manner's most annoying
Oh PHB, oh PHB
My work I ain't enjoying
Thy double-standards I can see
Epitomize hypocrisy
Oh PHB, oh PHB
Why can't you simply leave me be
Oh PHB, oh PHB

i have a NHB (no hair boss)...5s
I know the Dilbert character well and you've captured him perfectly. Five meetings, all conveying nothing.
I have seen Dilbert...I see PHB as standing for Perfectly Honed Ballad...your version..555
I wasn't familiar with David Brent, but I take it he is the BBC equivalent of the PHB., if not worse. I'll have to give you 3 sets of 5 PowerPoint presentations for this depiction of my avatar's nemesis.
Classic stuff, 555's
JJ - David Brent is the manager in a sitcom called The Office: I think it has made it over to that side of the pond, but I've no idea where you'd find it. Definitely worth watching, though.
Alvin - are you sure he's not a Partially Haired Boss, by any chance?
Thanks, everyone

I've had pretty good bosses, but some of my co-workers probably wouldn't have the skill to know how to operate and Etch-a-Sketch (my favorite line here). Saturday I got to see just how big the sparks (or, more aptly described as a fireball) from a 120V line can be.
Hi, RA - can't take the credit, I'm afraid: the Etch-a-Sketch line is straight from my favourite (or one of, anyway) Dilbert cartoon... couldn't think of a better rhyme for it, though. 120V? That's for wimps: come over this side of the Atlantic and see what you can do with 240V ;-) Shocking.
