Forest tree fell, a yew,
Perhaps a pine.

I didn't hear it drop, nor you,
But it's lyin'
On the dirt, dyin'.

Simple: was once standing;
It's now on the ground.
No one heard it landing,
Yet some folks ask, "Did it make a sound?"

Forest tree fell--now, crew,
It's chainsaw time.

A pine?
A cashew?
A gashed yew?
Was it mute?
And cares who?
Such casu-istry's found
'mongst those who share
Such concerns. Not me.
