Dinnertime comes and I'm feeling hungry
Picturing food piled on my plate
Something's not right, does my nose deceive me?
Or did she make something that I hate?

Refried beans and sugar canes
(And) I like spaghetti just the same
I use my fork when I eat pork
And a helping of rice is very nice

Candied yams, glazed or plain
Served with biscuits, I won't complain
Catfish served with head and tail
And last week's bread that's not yet stale

I will sneak out while it's still frying
And look for fast food, that's what I'm buying
