Original Song Title:

"A Few Of My Favorite Things"

Original Performer:

Julie Andrews

Parody Song Title:

"This Is The Diet That Carries My Name"

Parody Written by:

Peter Andersson a.k.a K1chyd

The Lyrics

If you're tired of Atkins, glycemic indexes, gastroplasty and/or the dubious joy of steaming hot nettle herb tea enemas - fear no more, the K1chyd eat-all-you-want diet is here!
Elephant hamstrings and pork chop from critters
Cheesecake and cheese curls, Norwegian bitters
Hummingbird chests filled with cornflakes and spam
Ostrich flambé with some cloudberry jam

Pasta al dente with donkey al Qaida
Salt from Gomorrah and lard makes me wider
Spicy hot honey, Brazilian wax
These are the best of my favourite snacks

Pop tarts and plain tarts and mars bars and root beer
Snow cones with gin make my uvula stay clear
Roadkill from NASCAR I eat with no shame
Speeds through my colon, it's always the same

If the taste's trite
I've a rethink
I can swing about
I simply trade Ozzy for favourite bats
And then I cook something phat

Liver with liver, oh boy, I love liver
I'll have a plate every day, don't you shiver
Chia pet salads with rhubarbs I've woked
No better way to keep lipids stay fooked

Romantic dinners I open with oysters
All types of wine if expensive and boisterous
Salami of turtleneck makes my date steam
And for dessert I serve gobstopper cream

Koala burgers and all types of slow food
Gator eggs omelette if I'm in an Oz mood
Guppies and elk balls and all sorts of game
All's in this diet that carries my name

If the taste bites
If a meal stinks
I might order out
And simply devour a pizza like mad
But then I don't feel so rad

I really enjoyed this one and intrigued, have been reading through a number of your old parodies.... you are one skilled puppy Peter, with a fine body of work to your inscrutable name!

Elk balls aside, this is a great diet. Needed more alcohol on it though, haha. 555 calories per serving for the Swedish Chef!.

I understood this wholeheartedly thanks to the trouble I'm having at Weight Watchers of late! Ordering the pizza - the last resort!

Thank you TJC, Alvin, Jack and Pickle.

Jack, I owe you for including gobstoppers, the whole ambiguous fifth paragraph of this song would probably not have existed without your parody about them. (I also owe the Australians for NOT having a paragraph about shrimps and BBQs in this parody, they've told me that's all advertising BS with no baring to reality).

(SOTM) Do sno-cones with gin really keep sinuses clear? I just might try that. And even if it doesn't work, I won't care. Long Live the Absurd!

"Liver with liver, oh boy, I love liver" Had to be my favorite line. This song is just so easy to make funny, and you did an excelent job

(SOTM) Thank you for the non-shrimp-on-the-barbie comment. It really grates me to see anything American anything where an 'Australian' person says that in that bloody awful accent...I better stop there. ANother awesome parody to add to your repetoire!

(SOTM) hmm, in fact I feel like a koala-burger now - and the Aussie second definition of "date" made for an amusing moment in that line too, Peter - great rhyme and rhythm here - very creative too - 555

(SOTM) Yeah, I've lost 16 pounds and counting on my diet, but it kinda sux, is yours working? It sounds good "And simply devour a pizza like mad"

SOTM - I shouldn't be reading these food parodies before dinner (wipes drool off keyboard). Good work, Peter.

(SOTM) Okay...remind me never to eat at your house! But this was very funny and delightfully warped, Peter. Great job.

SOTM - Seems kind of like the last line of each chorus is a little weird. I don't recall the OS using quite that same rhyme scheme. Otherwise it's good.

(SOTM) Only our man in Scandinavia could come up with something so Nordically nutty. Delightful fun here Peter...and the Aussie bits brought a tear of reminiscence to my eye. 555+

(SOTM) Liver with liver... I think that could work as a diet until I get hungry and order pizza. This was fun.
