Song Parodies -> Under the Raincoat
| Original Song Title: | "Over the Rainbow" |
| Original Performer: | Judy Garland |
| Parody Song Title: | "Under the Raincoat" |
| Parody Written by: | Rick Cormier |
As a child, I thought this was one of the most beautiful songs I had ever heard. It instilled wonder and hope in me.Now I've gone and done this to it.....
Bum, bare under the raincoat
Think he's high
Stands there, near to the lamp post
Flashes the passers-by
Bum, bare under the raincoat
London Fog?
Grinning wide in the vain hope
You'll be shocked by his log
Today on Sunset Boulevard
He failed to see the unmarked car
Behind him
He opened wide and let it flop
Now, downtown, with the L.A. cops
Is where you'll find him
Bum, bare under the raincoat
Home, he's sent
Cops said they couldn't hold him
Not enough evidence
Our un-hung zero,
"See, no Speedos!"
Home free, he goes.
"My, oh, my!"
rant

Editor's Note: If you stare at the very last sentence long enough, it begins to take the form of a pair of briefs.
The title made me laugh. The song is great, and the brief visual at the end is nice too!

SOTM--still FAB...=)
(SOTM) LOL!
Poor guy, it would be awful shameful to be let free due to 'not enough evidence'. Great concept, well written. 555
A bit short... for a SOTM contender, but largely enjoyable. :-)
(SOTM) Wonderful expose'.
(SOTM) See above!
Hey, I've been Paul Robinsoned by Dee Range! I'm honored by the comparison, because this is hilarious. Picturing little Judy Garland singing it makes it even better. Oh, and great Speedo visual at the end there, Rick.
(SOTM) already commented, and still a polished little gem - ditto re the LOLs about 'not enough evidence'
(SOTM) One of your very best, Rick!
ROFL!
I voted earlier but never commented, I guess. Excellent.
Simple and hilarious. What Phil said. Seriously, ROFL. Thanks, Rick.
(SOTM) So funny yet so wrong.
(SOTM) Late comment due to Firefox and lack of sleep (I guess).. Plenty of evidence for 5's though.
