The Lyrics
Hello, it's been a while. To write a parody about a disease, I decided to use an original song about a disease, albeit a figurative one. While Johnny Rivers's version was very successful, the original was written and recorded by Huey "Piano" Smith in 1957.

I got laid off, looks like I'm going broke
Strange new virus got a hold of me too
I got the Covid pneumonia and the Wuhan China flu
Gotta stay away from that big crowd
I wanna kiss her but it's not allowed
Bat soup virus got a hold of me too

Well all the rest'rants in my town are closed
Please keep your distance if I blow my nose
