Song Parodies -> "Scandal Flag"

Original Song Title:

"Grand Old Flag"

Original Performer:

George M. Cohan

Parody Song Title:

"Scandal Flag"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

My shortest parody yet, for Howard Dean. I guess he's not a "liberal extremist" anymore.
It's a scandal flag, it's a low, dirty flag
and forever for bigotry it waves.
It's the emblem of a cause to shove:
the right of the South to own slaves.
Every heart is sick at those flag-flying hicks
where there's ever a boast and brag.
But should Appomattox be forgot
call it "Treasonous Scandal Flag."
