"Hark the Herald Angels Sing"

Original Performer:

Felix Mendelssohn

Parody Song Title:

"Sporks Be Perilous-y Things"

Parody Written by:

Merry & Pippin

The Lyrics

We figured we had to do an obligatory Christmas Carol... ;-)
Sporks be perilous-y things
Gory goo one slipped prong brings
Raise none forth when drunk or riled
Sod! McDinner's all been spiled!
Guileful tho' be plastic tines
Pointy enough - not benign
With a bellicose mis-aim
Slice your corn - or deathly maim

Sporks be perilous-y things
Gory goo one slipped prong brings!

Wise device - revision of fork
Nice - the clever plastic spork
Quaint its time twofold did come
Offspring of the spoon-ed one
Duel success its functions be
Tool for carne or things soupy
'Tilitarian until
Seized as chow'r weapon too fell

Sporks be perilous-y things
Gory goo one slipped prong brings!

Flail of skewer-torn digits cease
Wail! It spawns an awful mess!
Blight and strife to all it stings
Leavin' skin peelings in cuisines
Wild it flays - it horrifies
Sworn no plan for spork in eyes!
Scorn the splayds for yon dessert
Warning: hybrid fork alert!

Sporks be perilous-y things
Gory goo one slipped prong brings!

Hah! Great wit you've 'splayed. Especially liked "Nice - the clever plastic spork". Fits to "Christ the everlasting Lord" beautifully.

Hey Claude, you meant to say U-tensil, right? Nice job you two. I howled as usual as I read this. Always a pleasure to see your names in the current days postings knowing that I will get a real treat from the read. And actually it was sporkin' funny.

Thanks everyone! And no, Pip, you put in one of the best lines of all, and the one that provided a 'clue' that nobody picked up on... hee hee. ;-)

Having read recently of (US) National Football League players committing homicide, suicide, and vehicular manslaughter, not to mention all the concussions and torn knees, etc., I read the title as "Sports Be Perilous-y Things" -- which would also be a good concept.

Excellent, and 555-worthy everywhere, but ewe two have suitably intimidated Your Humble Servant from naming fave lines, for fear of slighting one, the other, or both of ewe (as at "Falling -- Booze"). xD

Ah - go ahead, as I recall, this one had only a single word in it from my partner in crime, but it was a brilliant word and perfectly placed!

(And it shall be seen again...)

That would be "splayd", an Aussie-ism... and agree with your opinion ;-D

This was one song where my fave line was a repeated one: "Gory goo one slipped prong brings." Inspired!

However, it should also be noted that
"Pouring goo, one slipped thong brings."
